I've been discouraged as of late. Just when the shutdown ended, rumors spread that the BART strike would resume. Normally I'm an Union Girl. Look for the Union label, solidarity now! Let's join hands and sing "Joe Hill!" Or as they said in MST3k about unions "Pete Seeger, Weavers join in!"B

I made myself walk home, then drank a ginger ale. I was planning on watching an old Rosalind Russell movie, but I checked my facebook account. Trayvon Martin's picture was popping up in profile pictures. I knew then that Zimmerman got off. I just knew.

It was another night I woke up at two in the morning. I laid in bed, then started the audiobook I've been "reading" Is It Just Me? by Miranda Hart (best known to the US as Chummy Browne on Call the Midwife)  It's hysterically funny, but I wasn't in the mood for hysterically funny. Although I needed it the past month with the impending surgery of my father. Other thoughts occupy my mind besides Dad: money. The BART strike which might resume tomorrow. An extended member of my family who is going through a rough time right now. How there are some days I feel incredibly young, then on other days I feel all my forty-one years.
