folks this is it we have to climb together
Has anyone done this yet?
Dusting off my old Tumblr with a new name (technically my real name). It’s been a while since I’ve been here but I’m still up to the same Star Wars shenanigans. Considering how quickly social media platforms rise and fall, it’s comforting that this site hasn’t changed much. So like Boba Fett emerging from the Great Pit of Carkoon...I’m back!
Today's episode of the Happy Beeps podcast is all about the commercial side of Star Wars! Why do we love giving Star Wars our money? How has the marketing of the franchise changed over the years? And why didn't I buy this giant porg when I first saw it?! 🎧Tune in HERE
Use the Force (and lots of newspapers) to to make this DIY Ahch-To Island! I was inspired to make this craft after seeing LEGO's Ahch-To Island Training set. The set even comes with a porg minifigure! 😭
Happy New Year!
I’m a bit late on this but I’m ending 2017 on a star wars note.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! May the Force be ever in your favor.
DIY Star Destroyer Dog Costume
Last minute couples costume idea: Lady Vader and her Star Dogstroyer! (Dress by Her Universe.)
DIY Porg Puppy Costume
Star Wars: The Force Awakens chief concept artist Glyn Dillon:
“Rey went from being very well equipped, with lots of gadgets and tools for climbing and scavenging, to being very much pared down. Much simpler.
But we were still trying to tell her story in the costume… her arms protected with something like bandage, for climbing amongst sharp metal wreckage… (whilst echoing Luke’s puttees), the wrap she wears on her body, doubling up as a loose turban to protect her from the sun and sand storms. And finally, JJ had requested that she be masked when we first see her, so that it’s not clear who, or what, she is.
Since we were trying to establish her as a scavenger I thought it would be cool if she’d made her own goggles from the lenses of an original trilogy Stormtrooper. This would not only indicate where we were in the timeline but also tell us how resourceful and creative she is.”
“Never imagined this,” Han had murmured, sitting up in their bed late at night, Ben’s tiny head resting in the crook of his father’s arm. “Having a kid. Even wanting a kid. But now he’s here, and—” “And you’re a dad.” Leia had leaned closer, unable to resist the chance to tease her husband. “Just think, hotshot. Someday you might even be a granddad.” Han’s chuckle had warmed her. “Speak for yourself, sweetheart. Me, I ain’t ever getting that old.” ― Claudia Gray, Bloodline
Finally I could finish my drawing I started over a year ago. Just loosely based it over this particular moment from the book. It just broke my heart into million pieces.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens chief concept artist Glyn Dillon:
“When it came to Maz, as was the case with Kylo as well, we reached a point where all the concept artists were recruited to have a go. These were some of my Maz designs. But it was Luke Fisher who nailed it on this one.”
DIY STAR WARS COSTUMES: Maz Kanata, Jedi Master Luke, and Han Solo in carbonite
Rey likes the Porg. Luke isn’t too sure.
General Leia Organa action figure by Hasbro, available for pre-order at Disney Store now
“Gwendoline Christie is one of my favorite people, and you get to see her in action which I think is going to be really fun. That character is just so damn cool looking. Like, okay, let’s see what we can do with her. Let’s put her in action and see what happens.” - Rian Johnson
Fun times on Jedi Council yesterday! We discussed porgs, the Han Solo movie, and...The Wonder Years? Yes! Like I said, FUN. TIMES.
