Growing up and traveling with my dad on the road, he would always play this song. He would say it is a song that reminded him of his father, him and their relationship. He said to never regret saying anything to those you love because once they are gone, you'll lose that chance. My grandpa passed this year, and my dad told me that he hoped his dad knew he loved him regardless of all their differences in their relationship. He said he didnt have a close relationship with his father. However, he said he knows his dad loved him even tho he never showed it much to him. He loved his dad so much and prayed his dad knew that. It bothered my dad a lot after my grandpa passed and he never got closure because there wasn't a funeral held. So my dad constantly told me when I got to tt him, how proud he was of me, how far i came from my teen years, and how much he loved me and his all his kids, including his grandkids. He was scared because his health was fading and he knew his time was short. When I saw my dad in his final hours, i knew he was trying to tell us something but just couldn't. We knew his body was fading, but his mental state was still hanging on and he could hear us. That was the worst thing to ever see anyone go through, knowing he wasn't ready but knew he had to. I'm still grateful we were there in his final hours. When we have my father's memorial service (once we get the money to get him taken care of) I hope his friends and family are able to come and tell him the things they never were able to in the living years.
