Putting this PSA out now since I'm starting to see a circulation of it from people I used to follow.
If you disrespect artists so much that you publicly don't care about where the art comes from, I will block you. And the information will be shared for others to have their opinions placed on the platter, many of which I have already seen been saying in supporting the artist (they're already going thru a lot, guys).
It's not a matter of "the artist didn't give a fuck to sign it, so why should I" -- that is laziness and willful ignorance in the age of technology. There are people that crop the artwork to hide the logo/signature, or replace/hide it and repost it thusly. And your "idgaf" attitude only encourages this.
I'll put it out in a better understanding way:
If your writing was published with your signature, but someone stole it and hid/changed it and reposted it, you would be pissed off and disheartened and calling it stolen and plagerized. But the people that ended up enjoying the writing turn around and say "you didn't sign it, so why should I give a fuck?"
Willful ignorance harms everyone involved. To pretend otherwise is dilusional and scaping of accountability. The saddest part is this can easily be swayed:
Just post you don't know the artist but thought the art was cool, and if someone knows the artist to reblog stating so or commenting on it. It's not that fucking hard to simply say "I don't know, but if you do please add it."
