belated appearance.
( @vashaneul )
what he is about to do, it hasn't left jeon's mind for years, more than half a century now since he learned about his son, it had been difficult pushing it away for his safety, acting like it wasn't on his mind for so long — and now that he is so close to the truth, go jeon feels... excited, a tinge of nervousness he hasn't experienced in years. when he had planned his staged death couple of months ago, he had also planned a means to still communicate with his private investigator, whom he stayed anonymously in contact with. two files were to be distributed when the results were found; one sent to a po box under a different name, and one to remi — just in case things didn't go as smoothly as jeon would have wanted.
and while jeon was away, the results had come, they had found his son, who, as all vampires do, had changed his name to one thing or another, and now lived as im haneul. jeon has tried it on his tongue, but settled on making his appearance and addressing him as his son directly. god, he has waited so long for this moment, and as he parks his car in front of a foreign apartment building, jeon is surprised to find excitement amongst his plethora of emotions. of course, the great leader of the noctis clan can't have any weaknesses such as emotions, and oftentimes, that is the case after all. however, this is a special occasion, and he finds himself almost rushing as he takes the elevator upstairs, patience suddenly a challenge for the man.
truth to be told, it has been difficult to wait — the time took different qualities when it comes to his relationship with his son. at first, there was resignation, acceptance that if he tried to meet him, the boy would be hurt. then as time ebbed by and he couldn't keep his distance, he had begun to make plans, scheme and manipulate as go's often did. and now, years later, he is about to meet his son. since the results came, it took him a herculean effort not to go and meet him, especially since he was abroad and busy with clan matters — his mind is filled with thoughts as the elevator pings, and they all get cut, feet take him quickly to the flat written on the letter.
as he stands there in front of the door, go jeon takes a deep breath, hand almost faltering before he knocks on the door. how is he? how does he look? does he look like me? does he know about me? does he... hate me? insecurity is a foreign and bitter feeling wrapped in one, and jeon knows this is going to be an important point in his life. and when the door opens and he finally sees the face of his son, he smiles, a genuine one that spreads across his features, his eyes gazing up and down to take him all in. "im haneul ?" jeon asks, even though jeon knows it's him, it's an intrinsic feeling he can't let go of, and god, he is so happy to finally meet haneul. "i'm go jeon, son — it's good to meet you, finally." he adds, and before the other can speak, he pulls him forward into a hug.
