The Antithesis of Existence. (Digital, 2016.)

Hey, whaddya know. Even after a year of troubles, I’m still here!

This here’s an illustration from a story that my SO and I are working on. It’s about an entity known only as the Maestro, whose sole desire is to destroy all of existence. It doesn’t matter how many universes it’s spread across, or what species rise to fight him.

For in the end... he leaves nothing in his wake.

Finally finished that reference sheet of Medea!

Medea doesn’t get many visitors at the lighthouse that she maintains, so she can get a little excitable when she sees new faces. She’s also blunt to a fault; she can be rather tactless, but you’ll always know where you stand with her.

The gold symbol is the crest of the di Shasta lineage.

Look at this adorable little spiderguy. Don’t you just wanna hug him? I know I do, but drawing him will have to suffice for now.

A mockup of Rocer and Deklin, a pair of characters from an RPG project I'm working on with a friend.

Rocer Aheté is a ranger, and Deklin is a fire spirit that has attached themself to him. The two synchronize quite well in battle and have been close friends for years, even if Rocer's humble nature sometimes puts him at odds with Deklin's tendency to be a brash braggart.

Today's piece was supposed to be a Throwback Thursday, but it turned into Annie instead. Ah well, who am I to fight my muse?

Annie LaTorre is a lot of things: a brave urbexer, a semi-popular vlogger by the name of "RosyRaccoon", and the biggest daredevil when it comes to mixing and matching clothes. But don't let her perkiness or seemingly whim-driven behaviors fool you-- Annie is very perceptive and will pursue any mystery she encounters until it's been solved!

"Daaaad, no peeking! The crown'll lose its magic if you look at it before it's on your head!" "Don't worry, starshine, I'm not peeking." "Nuh-uh! I can see you! You're TOTALLY peeking!"

Though she loves her family a great deal and is close to all of them, Annie is the closest to her father, and has been ever since childhood.

Nicolas LaTorre is not known among his friends or coworkers for being a smiler. But that's just because they don't see him very often with his family.

At the place where the land ends and the Sea of Stars begins, there stands a great lighthouse. It is a waypoint and a watchtower; the ultimate legacy of the late guardian Shasta.

Those who seek to preserve Shasta's contribution are given the title of the Lighthouse Keeper, and all of the otherworldly quirks that their role bestows upon them...

I want to make this year a little more productive in terms of both original art and progress on personal projects. So what better way to kick it off than with some dream-inspired art?

This is Medea, one of Shasta's descendants and the current-day Lighthouse Keeper. I promise she's not usually quite this solemn!

Just a quick doodle of little miss Annie-banannie before I go to work. I can never quite decide how curly I want to make her hair, but she's fun to draw all the same.

I’ve received a lot of letters from artists asking to check out their artwork and their blog, and I’ve noticed that a lot of them openly write unhealthy amounts of negative comments about their artwork, it was super depressing, honestly.  :( Confidence plays a very very important role as an artist, it’s what helps us learn and grow without the constant feeling of doubt and jealousy!  You are a unique individual who must go down your own unique path, and as scary as it sounds, you can’t rely on others to hold your hand all the way through.  You are the only one who can get yourself to where you need to go, and beating up your artwork is not the way!  Trust yourself and your abilities to make a change, and you can do anything!! Love your art, love yourself!

Got a brand-new Wacom Intuos as a graduation gift today, so I decided to test it out. I'm really admiring how much more precise it is than my old tablet!

Also, a glorious shout-out to my fellow graduating class of 2014! Go Pioneers!

Drawing warm-up and eye concepts for the main cast of Gang of Hats. It's interesting how much eyes can convey on their own, isn't it?

(And yes, Annie is always that wide-eyed. Her friends joke that she must have been born from a cartoon to have eyes like that.)
