I watched a commentary on Jeremy’s characterisation.

It held the view that he is the most unreliable narrator within the three, and I was under the impression that was Neil.

After reading Neil from Jean or Jeremy’s point of view, I realised he- to other people- is almost arrogant, and terrifying. However, when we see the story from his own eyes, it’s different.. he’s likeable and there’s the need to protect him.

When it comes to Jeremy I assumed it was what you see is what you get, but that video really changed my views on his characterisation- he is way more nuanced than I had first thought.

What are our thoughts on Aaron?

Personally, I think he’s only his true self (tolerable) with his girlfriend. Everyone else, including his twin brother to an extent, gets the short end of the stick.

We only really see him from Neil’s pov, and it is not secret that Neil hates him. Therefore, there could be some subjective descriptions given by the narrator.

Im just conflicted here.

He’s a really hate able character but there is too much nuance in his characterisation, for me to just write him off as a bad egg.

And as soon as Kevin was free from the Raven attacking him, he ran to Neil and stayed by his side until Andrew got to him, and Aaron let him know it was okay to leave.

A: Probably one of the times Neil’s mouth got him into a world of trouble, because Andrew is an instigator at heart and Neil is really good at picking fights.

This is such an interesting aspect of Andrew's characterisation. It puts a lot of scenes in AFTG into perspective. It seemed to me that after Kathy's show, not when Neil revealed his half-truths, Andrew finally decided it was okay to let Neil into their group.
