The moment she could feel the warmth of her blood on her lips, she closed her eyes and started slowly sucking along the puncture wounds. Jeremy tasted good, not the best she had ever had but she figured that was because he was a werewolf. On his lap, she moved here and there trying to find a comfortable position since he was much taller than her and she had straightened her back and leaned up towards him to reach his neck.
Eventually, she eased her back and looked into his eyes. âHow are you feeling?â The vampire inquired. After all, it was the poor guyâs first time and she knew she could be a bit much. Baileyâs honey colored eyes looked over at his neck, watching as the blood ran down his neck, causing her to lick her lips. âWould you like me to bite you elsewhere? For some, multiple bites feel good, you get a little light headed.â She then leaned in, her lips near his. âWhat do you say?â
The bite itself not being all that bad, the most nerve wracking part turned out to be how wiggly she was while seated on his lap. Entirely against his own will, he felt himself harden slightly purely because he had an attractive woman wiggling on his lap, leaning against him in an intimate way and he felt himself flush deeply as he hoped that she didn't feel it or notice it and then he got so into his head about whether or not he should apologize for it happening, not knowing if it was normal or not normal that by the time she stopped feeding from his neck he barely even noticed until she was suddenly in front of his face again, asking him a question.
'Hu-uh?" His brain failed to keep up to speed with the current of events and thus took him some time to realize what was happening now. Another bite? He supposed she was asking because she could use more blood. He didn't feel light headed at all yet, which was good, and likely due to his werewolf genetics and the rapid healing was already working on the bite at his neck, making the new skin feel itchy as it grew over the wound and the drying blood felt tight and cooling. Luckily the panic of these diverting thoughts diminished his erection.
"O-Okay... okay... I-I, um... my-my... my wrist-wrist. My wrist?" He suggested while shifting in his seat, trying to put a bit of distance between her face which was still so very close to his.
It had been ages since Thaddeus had a guyâs night with his friend. Usually, it ended up just being one on one sessions with each individual like currently. So he decided to go for it and see if he could get a small group of friends over to play some games, maybe have a few drinks and just relax.
âNot sure, do you know Theo, Charlie, Minho?â Thaddeus questioned. Although it did seem the whole town knew who Minho was, the fae did have a certain aura about him that drew people in. âAnd of course you can invite whoever. Just be fun to play some poker and have a couple of beers. No pressure or anything.â
Jeremy didn't know most of the people Thad named, the only he did know was, "Theo... I-I know... I know.. know... Th-Theo." He'd met the other man at The Den and they were in the same pack but Jeremy didn't exactly consider himself a friend to Theo which was most likely his own doing, it was overall difficult for Jeremy to get close to people when he could barely talk to anyone. It was at least nice with Theo for the other man seemed to talk enough for the both of them. "C-could I... Could I.. I.. I... in-invite.. invite... R-Ryden?" Jeremy believed that he had one solid friend out of everyone he knew and that was Ryden and having Ryden around would immediately make him feel more at ease about a card night with strangers.
Tyler hummed softly as he looked at the shelf in front of him, trying too decide what pot Spikey might like. But he was coming up blank. Tyler picked up a black one and looked it, before he frowned and placed it back on the shelf. Sadly, Spikey needed a new home, he last one was no longer good for him. Mainly due to the beer that got poured into it, but also because he was growing and growing boys needed bigger space.
Tyler glanced behind him as he saw movement, before he looked back at the shelf and picked up a purple and looked at before he sighed, placing it back on the shelf. Nothing was calling out him, nothing seemed to suit him. Tyler turned to look at the person again, watching him for a moment, before he smiled and moved closer to the man. "Question." Tyler started as he tilted his head slightly. "If you were a cactus what color pot would you like?"
Jeremy wasn't typically considered a green thumb but he did enjoy nature and lately had decided he wanted to try to keep something alive in his apartment and so had come in search for some basic supplies. Also a succulent because he heard those were hard to kill. The only problem being that he had no idea what exactly he was looking for and was too shy to ask any of the elusive store clerks for help, they all seemed so very busy, rushing around between the aisles of greenery and helping one person or another so Jerry ended up just hovering somewhere in their vicinity until he eventually lost the small amount of courage he had built up and ended up wandering the store alone trying to look like he knew what he was doing. So when someone started to talk to him, it came as a surprise and in true Jeremy fashion, his surprise expression at being spoken to unexpectedly resulted in his features darkening to a visible scowl, not because he was upset but that's just the way his face looked when he was caught off guard and being shy as he was and socially awkward, he didn't know what to take of the random seeming question and so only shrugged back.
Jeremy wasn't alone in his anxieties. Although, it was less clear in her expression. She watched as something that looked like anger settled into his features. It made sense to her fragile heart that he would be angry with her. After all, what use was she except for as a plaything. Of course, he would be angry with her.
But she knew better. He wasn't angry; Maya could hear it in his voice. She knew all too well too that he merely looked angry when he was anxious. He was blaming himself. This was exactly what she was trying to save him from. Maybe she wasn't a bad person, but she was a broken one. Continuing as they were would just result in her glass shard edges cutting him. Still, she shook her head quickly. "No, it's not you. It's not..." She had to huff a laugh. That she enjoyed herself too much with him was exactly the problem. "It's great, you're great. But we agreed it would be just sex," Maya tried to explain. In her mind, that was how it had gone. They had agreed.
"And I feel..." She shook her head, "I don't even know, I've never felt like this. But it's not just sex, so I just need to take a step back, remember the kind of girl I am." It all made perfect sense in her head. At no point, in all the hours she had thought and then overthought her feelings, it had never occurred to Maya that she could ask if he wanted more too. Despite Matty suggesting it almost outright, that was simply not an option that existed to her. She wanted to tell him that she didn't want to lose him, to please not be angry with her, maybe even that he had promised they would still be friends even if sex wasn't involved. The words felt like tar in her throat. She knew not to say them. Exactly that, the tar pit of fear and hurt that she carried in her chest wasn't something she could risk him getting stuck in, not when she knew that Jeremy already had difficulties of his own. Instead, Maya swallowed again and said only, "I'm sorry."
As Jeremy listened, he did his best to keep his eyes on her, which, for him, was difficult. He wanted to look away, his nerves and anxieties always getting the better of him in the face of extreme emotions and it was easier to hide away but despite the urge in him to look away and hide again, he kept looking at her, because she said she wanted to stop seeing him and if he wasn't going to see her again then he didn't want to waste the chance he had now to keep looking at her. Though her words came out and they confused him. It wasn't something he'd done and yet she wanted them to stop spending time together and as she continued to speak more, the churning of anxiety grew inside of him, and the well chewed worried spot on the inside of his cheek tasted like iron against his tongue when she said it wasn't just sex.
Jeremy had always been simple, he'd barely finished school, he had limited interactions with his classmates and absolutely zero friends growing up. He hadn't been the guy that was sought after by many. His romantic and sexual interactions were so very few that he often found himself blundering through them now when someone came to him expressing feelings like this and now he found himself once again confused and unable to express himself.
Slowly, he reached his hand closer to her, keeping his eyes on her to watch for any sign she might pull away from him, if not then his fingers coarse from years of manual labor would connect with the side of her hand. He couldn't understand why she'd want this to stop, even after she explained it, it didn't make sense to him. If he liked her and if she liked him, then why did that mean they needed to stop. Then he realized that she maybe didn't know this, because he hadn't said anything. He'd been happy to go along with everything because it was easier than talking about how he felt. So despite the fear rising in his stomach, despite the anxiety that made his palms sweat, he stammered out, "I-I-I ... l-l-like... I-It's n-n-not j-j-just s-s-sex f-f-or m-me. I-I l-l-like... w-wh-o y-y-you a-are."
Loose Strings//Jeremy & Maya

Maya had argued with herself about how and if to do this for days. She had considered meeting somewhere public, but decided against it. Small town gossip being what it was, anything they said would be all over town by sundown. She had thought about her apartment as well, but she wanted to be able to leave if it really went horribly. She had debated not having the conversation at all and just letting things continue as they were. That wasn't fair to Jeremy though, not when they had agreed, in her mind, to keep things casual. That and recent conversations had only confirmed for her that being vulnerable with someone meant getting hurt. The only option she had not considered was talking it out over text. She might be a coward, but he certainly deserved better than that. Which was how she had arrived at Jeremy's place, with knots in her stomach.
She didn't take her shoes off at the door. Instead, she stayed near it. Maya ran her fingers through her hair. She swallowed and licked her lips. "I think we should stop sleeping together," she said, a tremor in her voice. She didn't think he would be angry with her. Although, Maya was used to expecting the worst. No, her fear was how much she would hurt him or herself in the process.
But it was better this way, she knew. He didn't want to date her. No one did. They could take a little space and she would stop imagining she was someone other than she was. It would be better in the long run, less painful for them both.
What smile may have been on his face was not wiped away quickly by her words, it took some time, actually, for the understanding of what she'd said to sink in and so there was a gradual decline to the upturn of his mouth until it fell into a flat line.
He should have known this wouldn't last but that didn't make it sting any less. "D-d-did I-I-I..." his already stammered speech sounded more so now, a rise in anxiety making it harder to get his words out and so he struggled over those words for quite some time, mentally berating himself the entire time that of course she'd want to stop because he couldn't even get a proper word out and he ended up huffing out with frustration at himself, the upsetting emotions twisting his features to appear quite grim and hard but he always looked angry whenever he was upset.
Maybe she could guess what he was trying to ask, that he wanted to ask her if he'd done anything wrong but he couldn't get it out, couldn't form the words or make his mouth behave and so he tried to reach out for her hand.
Ryden delivered what was, well, expectedly unexpected and perhaps he wouldâve been successful at it too if he had the willpower to actually focus his eyes and zone back into reality. But he didnât, so the sharp loud snap of his teeth was a vicious but completely failed attempt to catch the waving stick between them and break it in half. Instead he simply snapped at air then gave up exhaustedly as fast as heâd attacked.Â
Heâd heard the crinkling of the snack packaging as Jeremy pulled it out, the skin at his temples tightening as his still human ears perked up for the sound even though at first he did not spare it a glance. He soon did though, giving the offered crackers a stink eye, like the mere thought of knowing Ryden so well to offer him food for at least a slight mood improvement was already negating the feeble attempt. He maintained the narrow-eyed look as he almost suspiciously reached over and took one of the offered crackers then munched on it, squeezing out a forced âthanksâ through cracker-full teeth.
Jeremy returned the thanks with a nod and settled himself once again more comfortably in front of the fire, knowing that Ryden would speak to him about whatever he wanted to if and when he was ready to do so and there was no real point in trying to force it out of him before then. Ryden was like a boulder and it was one of the features about him that Jeremy admired so much, for he so often felt like a small clump of loosely held together dirt, not solid enough to be a pebble and fragile enough to crumble when handled.
He tore open the package a little so he could more easily reach another cracker and pulled one out for himself, breaking it in half with his teeth. Despite the flickering fire light in front of him, his gaze kept slipping up to the sky above, he didn't need to know what time it was for he could feel it in his body, an internal clock that he was annoyingly aware of on nights with a full moon.
"M-m-mars m-ma-ke it t-t-to h-h-his p-p-pod o-ookay?" Jeremy had seen him earlier but hadn't stopped to chat, the siren was nice though a little hard to understand at times and Jeremy needed to be in the right headspace to make it through a conversation with him.
Theo talked a little more about his living situation until Jeremy showed him Marsden who was working tonight. He understood that he was asking if he wanted a drink. He nodded his head, he had been a bit thirsty. ''Yeah! I don't drink actual alcohol, but- Well, it's not for dramatic reasons, I drank once and it was fine, I just don't want it to turn into something bad.'' Maybe not drinking because his dad had a drinking problem and he was worried about having the gene somehow was a dramatic reason, but he meant that he didn't care if Jeremy did choose to drink something that had alcohol in it. They met in a bar after all.
''Hey! I'll take a virgin mojito please!'' he asked Mars when he wasn't talking with another customer anymore and gave Jeremy a chance to order too.
Jeremy's expression turned to confusion when Theo explained that he didn't drink alcohol because he didn't want it to become bad, initially misinterpreting and thinking he was scared of the drink itself being bad and so the werewolf gave a slight but understanding nod. He could understand that fear, it's why he always went for the same drink every time and so when he nodded at the bartender for a drink, they always knew what to get him which also saved him the added stress of needing to speak to order it. Having a regular drink made it easier for everyone in his opinion.
Mars gave a snort at Theo's drink, muttered a low, "Nerd," and first gave Jerry his drink as it was just as simple as uncapping a bottle of beer and then began to mix the virgin mojito for Theo.
With the cold beer in his hand, Jeremy took a small sip to build up some courage to talk and so was able to ask in his halting speech, "W-whw-hat d-do y-y-you d-d-do?"
It had been the first time she dealt with someone willingly giving their blood, it was hard to know the proper protocols. Often, she enjoyed warming up with the person, light teasing and even perhaps more before sinking her fangs into someone. However, the town operated differently from her vampyric nature when it came to devouring your blood bag human. âOkay,â she softly said. It was a bit endearing seeing how nervous he was and how he stammered over his words. The boy sure was cute.
Bailey slowly eased back in, one hand moving to his chest to feel his heartbeat and also to steady herself. As she got closer, she licked his neck playfully before opening her mouth to reveal her sharp fangs. Instead of savagely biting into him, she slowly sank her fangs into his neck, piercing through the skin and soon blood began pooling around the two holes in his neck as she started to lap at the blood.
Jeremy didn't know what he was expecting but he could feel everything as if it were amplified as he held his eyes shut. He could feel the weight of her body shift, pressure over his chest from the cool palm of her hand, able to feel the difference of temperature through the layer of his shirt. He could smell her fragrance as she leaned in closer and he had to remind himself to keep breathing as the cold tip of her tongue licked out against the side of his neck. His heart rate surged at the bite and he was incredibly aware of every millimeter of her fangs that pierced through his skin. His hands had curled into fists where they rested on the arm rests of the lounge chair and his eyes squeezed even tighter until white pinpricks could be seen behind his lids.
It... wasn't that bad. Once the initial sharp pain passed, the combination of his hot blood and her cool lips created an almost numbing sensation against the side of his neck and soon it only felt wet and he was only vaguely aware of the feeling of her tongue lapping up the blood as it oozed out slowly from the puncture wounds. Okay, okay, this wasn't that bad, were his thoughts and he kept repeating that in his head, that it wasn't that bad and this was fine and he was fine until slowly but surely all the tension that had once been contained in his body started to ease. He even dared to peak his eyes open, careful not to shift his head or his neck while his eyes moved to catch sight of what was visible of her, mostly just the mass of her hair and the side of her figure and her hand as it rested over his chest.
Seeing nod made her try to relax more. The last thing he needed was her freaking out around him. In truth she barely liked to show her anxiety like this in front of others and she mostly blamed that on her upbringing or lack there of. But Jeremy was one of the few people Amelia whole heartedly trusted so unfortunately that meant it was easy for those walls to slip down and embarrass her. She closed her eyes and took in some deep breaths to center herself and not freak out more. At Jeremy's question she looked up at him. "With a babysitter, luckily, his favorite one. I had some quick work to do but at least he isn't here with us. That's the last thing we would need right now.
Jeremy nodded in agreement, they had no way of knowing how long they'd be stuck in the elevator but as long her as son was being looked after by someone that was at least one less thing to worry about. Still, it didn't solve the immediate issue. Strangely enough, with the elevator not moving like this, it almost made Jerry's anxieties worsen, feeling as if the very floors they stood on would suddenly give out and so he started to hold onto the metal handrailing against the wall of the elevator, just in case.
His eyes kept lingering to the control panel with the rows of numbers and the call button and nodded his head toward it, "M-m-maybe t-t-try a-a-a-gain?" He was fairly good with technical things and the little mechanic in his brain couldn't help but wonder if he could try to fix it himself so he inched slowly and carefully along the side of the elevator to get closer to the control panel.
Thaddeus did not press any further, he knew from personal experience that talking about such things can be difficult and Jeremy was a lot like him in that regard. A smile formed hearing things were well with Jeremy at work, he figured as much given the man worked with a good friend. Plus, he wasnât sure he ever heard Jeremy utter a single pessimistic thing since they have known each other.
He nodded in agreement, âI know it will be in the long run. Just, I dunno. Maybe it is the protective dad, but it terrifies me that she could potentially get hurt in a competition. Although, I am sure that wonât happen until she is older.â There was also the fact, Norma tended to be a little bit of a bully at daycare and she just started kindergarten and he had already been up several times to meet with the teacher because of Normaâs antics. âDo you play board games or cards?â Thaddeus questioned. âWas hoping to have a few guy friends over for something, just to hangout and all.â
Jeremy, not knowing much at all about the raising of children nor self-defense classes for them, could only nod his head along as Thad expressed his concern over his daughter potentially getting hurt. He supposed that was a valid worry and certainly if he were in the same position, would likely get anxious about it as well, so he could over no platitudes or reassurances for his friend and only carried a look of concern on his features as he too now began to worry for Norma's well-being.
"Oh...y-y-yes," Jeremy nodded that he did play and it was now that the topic had ventured toward that direction that he awkwardly added, "S-s-some-t-t-imes... R-R-Ry and I .... p-p-p-play c-c-c-cards." He pressed his lips together nervously when Thad mentioned wanting to have some people over to play cards and chewed on the inside of his cheek, "D-d-do I-I-I ... k-k-know t-t-them?"
The vampress could feel the acceleration of his heartbeat, the vein in his neck pulsating just ready for her fangs to sink into him. As her lips brushed against his neck, kissing gently building the mood between them she was stunned when the werewolf told her to wait. Bailey quickly pulled back from him, removing her hands and everything from his body in case she did cross a line. Still on his lap, her honey color eyes looked at him completely confused by his reaction. âIs everything okay?â Sure, she enjoyed toying with her food. But she did try and respect most boundaries people put in place since she moved to Greywood. âDo you want me to go?â She asked, still hesitant about what just took place. Â
When she pulled away it gave Jeremy the much needed moment he needed to breathe, actually breathe, and oxygen rushed into his lungs to soothe his flaring nerves about this entire situation. He swallowed, thick and dry against nothing in his throat before he gave her a shake of his head, no, he didn't want her to go, he just needed a moment to regain his bearings. "I-i-it's f-f-fine... j-j-just g-g-g-go s-s-slower," he eventually stammered out. It felt like he'd only just sat down before she was already on his lap trying to bite his neck and he hadn't even wrapped his head around what was about to happen yet.
He started to nod again, to indicate he was ready and then squeezed his eyes tightly in anticipation.
âRosita, not sure I have met her.â Thaddeusâ eyes drifted for a moment trying to think of a woman named Rosita in town, but he has yet to come across her. âWell, it happens. Sometimes there is a spark and sometimes there isnât.â The man remained his usual optimistic self.
âHow is work and everything else?â The firefighter doubted he would get much from his friend, but he was genuinely interested in hearing more about Jeremy. âI decided to sign up Norma for ballet and martial arts, well my sister Ophelia said I should also do martial arts, so this shall be interesting.â
Jeremy made a combo move of shrugging his shoulders and shaking his head to try and convey that it didn't mean all too much to him that the encounter with Rosita hadn't gone anywhere. Honestly, he was already cultivating a secret crush on someone else that he didn't yet feel comfortable sharing and it wasn't Rosita. He was much happier to leave that topic behind and move onto something else, though true to form, when asked how work and everything else was, his response was another polite sort of shrug paired with a tight lipped smile and a simple, "G-g-g-ood." He never had much to say on it, the days blended together at his job in varying shades and there was only so much he could say on it. If he were a more talkative person he might have been able to say that he and Ry had played cards using a cardboard box as a table and he'd lost, again, but he wasn't that talkative sort, at least not in person so said nothing more.
He made a hum sound from his throat with interest when Thad said that he'd signed Norma up for a selection of activities. He agreed with Thad's sister, "M-Martial a-a-arts w-w-will b-b-be g-g-good," especially in a town like this but also equally important to learn at least some sort of self-defense in general.
Amelia hated freaking out in front of Jeremy, she knew he didn't deserve to have to see her like that so she tried to sit back down in the opposite corner from him to give them both space in the cramped elevator. "You'd think that they'd at least know it's down by now right?" She asked hopeful. "I tried the call button on the panel there but nothing worked." Amelia sighed and tried to hug her knees closer to her body. "I'm sorry, I'm not as calm as I normally am. I don't do well with tight spaces."
Jeremy could only shrug at her hopeful suggestion. He hoped the same, that whatever tech support team or maintenance workers who monitored the elevators in this building were aware of the mishap by now and were doing something to fix it. The only problem that remained was not knowing and without the ability to get a cell signal to contact the world outside of this metal box they were stuck in, they were quite literally in the dark, with no way of finding out the passage of time or whether they were moments away from being saved or hours. He hoped not hours. It didn't help his own nerves were blaring but that he could also feel her own nervous energy filling the space. He was fine in tight spaces, actually preferred it to an open space, but Jeremy lived his entire life anxious about something and now he was anxious about something else and he chewed on the often abused inside of his cheek to work through it.
He wished he could offer her some kind of reassurance, but it would have been empty. Instead he asked, in his stammering voice, "W-wh-where's J-J-James?" She wasn't here with her son right now but hopefully the young boy was safe at home or somewhere else.
