The smell of an old book is the smell of its death. The scent is caused by paper, ink and adhesives breaking down. As a book’s organic compounds degrade, they release chemicals into the air that we interpret as a combination of grass, vanilla, and almond. Books also hang on to odors that tell the story of their history– like smoke, flowers pressed between pages, or water damage. Source Source 2 Source 3
If you're looking for Morana, she does not really have a tumblr. She was never really fluent in social media and doesn't know how to use it ^.^"
Wont be back on until next week!!!
Date- 07/15/2018. Heading Home.
Its been almost a year since I left New York, and I gotta say its been one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Leaving my new friends, the mutants we have taken in, and Shelley.... Not seeing her had been one of the hardest thing for me. But I’m heading home now.
Morana informed me before we left about this mission... In Russia there was a colony of mutants that were attacked by, what they described as, ‘Feral Mutants’. These attacks left many dead, including kids. Morana didn't hesitate, and we left immediately to find out what the cause was of these attacks.
We left with 27 mutants, all for this mission that Morana said was important in Russia, and we are going home with only seven of us still alive. Morana is taking the loss hard, more than I thought she would. Even though she cant physically show her emotions, I can sense her pain in her. I’ve never seen her like this before. She is staying behind for a few days, hoping that there could be survivors. I wish I had her hope, but no one could have survived the explosion.
I told Shelley that I was safe, I didn't tell her about what I witnessed and endured. I couldn't tell her about this, she would have begged me not to leave if she knew I was going to be fighting mutants bigger than me. But I had to leave, kids were dying. Families. The screams still fresh in my mind. I cant tell her, not yet. Its still too soon.
My partner, who I have known since I was mutated, was killed in battle. He was like a brother to me and the only one that understood the pains of being a massive bear... I remember when we use to sneak into the Big and Tall stores together just to get some clothing, and it was still too small. I miss him greatly...
Morana has given me a new partner to work with, a wolf mutant named Hallow. Hallow lost her partner as well to this mission, from what I gathered Hallow was in a relationship with her partner, and carried the body out of the building. She has not really spoken to me much, but I welcome the silence as I still mourn.
The final battle was a month ago, feels like yesterday. I can remember the explosion, the dust clearing and seeing the destruction. We fought hard, cornering the Feral’s into a Oil Refinery only for one of them to cause a fire. I barely escaped in time with the few that were able to make it.... Ten left that building alive, but only seven made it in the end. We found no trace of the Feral’s, not since that fight. Not even a hair was found. We believe that they are dead, but I have a bad feeling that there are still a few left.
This is my last entry for this mission. Me, Hallow and the others are going to be taking a short vacation. Hopefully the next mission won't be for another year. Hopefully. Only thing I am looking forward to is a red head in New York City, that is the only thing getting me through this.

Is this what humans use to communicate with each other than texting??? Huh. I like it.
