Evaluation
Unit 11 was a big project which included different other minor projects within. We had the UCAS application, self-branding, Wandering's project, Live project and Insight with UAL. My future aim is to continue studying at university, as I want to follow the path of architecture. The UCAS application allowed me to understand better university life, learn more about architecture and what it has to offer me as a long time carrier. Self-promotion instead, taught me how to create my own business from scratch. I started from my logo design, which reflected my identity, designed my CV, which was blank before, created my business card following my logo style and finally my portfolio, which I required for my application for universities. Additionally, we needed to make our website and cover letter, fortunately, I manage to produce them in time of the deadline, even though I had too many things to do. The Wandering project was a great way of collaborating with other departments. This allowed us to get a feel of a real studio project. The live project instead, was a bit of a mess. We were put in big groups and our task was to create mainly a brochure design for our client. Besides this, as we have a long time on this project, we have been assigned to do a website design and social media campaign. As the project started, we asked for different files from the client. However, they never got to us, so we didn't have anything to work with. Because of this, we had to use stock images, found information from other sports websites and redesigned their logo. The project is not completely done yet, but as we still have time for this one, we will continue to work in it. The Insight project instead, allowed me to learn more about architecture design. It was about regenerating an isolated car park and bringing two different groups of people together like in a community centre. This project allowed me to see how other students approached the same issues and circumstances the project gave us and how everything turnout at the end. I think the whole unit 11 project was a great way of experiencing and understanding professional design studio work. Balancing between different projects, working in groups and alone, meeting different deadlines and creating various outcomes, which are all we get to do in a real-life studio. I think I stressed myself a lot, as I had many projects to work on, help my siblings with their online studies and help at home too. It was a long and stressful project, and the lockdown and everything being online didn't help at all. This unit allowed me to experience a different field. I learned a lot about many things from self-promotion to university lives, from how to work on a big group to balance many projects at once. I found it challenging on working on so many projects altogether and as it was online, it was even harder. Overall, I can conclude this Unit by saying that although timings and the lockdown didn't help, I managed to get through and complete the projects in the best of my abilities.
