“What do you know about the Vidalis’s anyways?” Jazz doesn’t really have time for the small talk part of what she is pretty sure is kind of sort of a date. She did have time to doll herself up just a little, she was showered, perfumed, and her hair was out of the messy bun that it’d been in for what felt like days. Things had escalated, her priorities had shifted and yet…He’d called her beautiful and when she thought about that, she couldn’t just in good faith meet him for another drink while looking like she’d been pouring over notes on vampires for days in total hermit mode. “I’m friends with Anastasia’s next in line. The youngest Ava, too.” She could count Dio too, probably, but she knew Miri and Ava the best. @jerriklykos·
The last thing he had expected was to have a conversation about the Vidalis when they had kind of sort of decided on a date. Neither of them had called it such, but that was what Jerrik thought it was. That was what people thought of it as when two people went out and spent time with each other. And there was some sort of like between them. However, he knew that Anastasia Vidalis was on Jazz’s mind. That was his excuse for giving her his number the last time they had spoken. He wondered what was really going on there. Maybe she would tell him tonight. “I just know the basics, I guess. I’m more in tune with a different coven. The Häljesta. It definitely doesn’t run the same as the Vidalis, that much I know.” He leaned forward on the table towards her. “You look slightly perplexed about something. Are you okay?”

“No. Something is definitely different.” Arvid pointed out, his brow furrowed as he paced around his brother and did a quick once over. The four day scruff was a thing of the past too. “You seeing someone or something?” That was a joke punctuated by a sharp pull at the corners of his mouth as he quirked a brow at Jerrik.
“No. Nothing is different at all. I’m just the same me.” Jerrik wanted to skim past this entire conversation as quickly as he could. He knew Arvid was ready to annoy him about the concept of seeing anyone. And he was not ready to have that conversation with his brother. He had never been the person that even remotely showed interest in anyone. Jazz was just a surprise to him that he considered a welcome one. “I’m not seeing anyone, no. What would make you think that?”
eviebordeaux·:
Evie’s nose scrunches slightly with mischief and joy, she teases so often, it was rare for even the slightest bit of call-out but with Jerrik’s sarcastic reply, she can’t help but be pleased and find amusement in it. It was good for others to meet her at her level. “You wouldn’t go where the pretty girls are?” She cocks an eyebrow, and mirth is contained in her voice again as he is one of her favorite regulars at her burlesque lounge. “I always go where the pretty girls are. No interest in looks and yet I can find you here almost any night. What a unique man. If it’s not the looks, what draws you here?”
“Not particularly. I guess we’re just wired differently.” Jerrik certainly wasn’t the one that just looked for looks in a person. As a matter of fact, that was something he didn’t even bother with at all. He could admire when someone was beautiful in the conventional sense of the word, but it wasn’t something he bothered to notice. Personality was what drew him in. It took a long time for him to be interesting in anything that was considered a relationship. “I just like the entertainment. Is that so bad? You mean to tell me you don’t want to enjoy a nice show? I think the atmosphere is good in here.”

“You’re a little too late. I’m just about to leave.” And he was hoping he could just head home so he could take a shower. The last thing Jerrik ever liked was to do such a thing in public. It was uncomfortable for him and he didn’t want to explain to people why he had to keep a full sleeve on while he was cleaning himself. Nevertheless, it was still good to see Bas. “You can come with or we can meet up another time.”
eviebordeaux:
“Lucky guy indeed.” She follows good naturedly to his joke, there was no mistaking how gruff or guarded of a person he was and Evie liked when others gave easily. It was why she tended to be friends with dramatic souls or those that could pop off easily, anything that could entertain her for a night and give her some entertainment in this long life. She takes a sip of her blood red cocktail. “Lowkey? Plain lays chips, recliner and wherever there’s pretty girls type?”
“Ha ha, very funny.” Jerrik did like Evie. There was a lot about her to like. She sure as hell made it her mission to be liked was what it seemed like. Or maybe it was just that she had that kind of aura about her. That people could like her without a second thought. It didn’t matter to him what others thought though. He only cared about the impression made on him and she had made a decent one. For someone that didn’t seem like his kind of person to get along with, at least. “I wouldn’t say I sit on a recliner or go wherever pretty girls are. I’m not really that kind of guy that’s interested in looks. The plain lays chips though? I don’t see anything wrong with that.”

He likes lilies, he likes helping people, there’s a kindness in those steely blues that sort of ruin the whole tough guy thing he’s got going. Jerrik is sweeter than the perma-stubble would suggest, but she doesn’t think she’s in a position to tease him about that. Not over drinks at least, not the first time. It occurs to her that the train of thought would suggest there would be a next time. It leaves Jazz blinking at herself as she takes a sip from her glass, nods about the lilies. They aren’t easy flowers, she thinks that means something about him, too. It feels a bit like she’s taking down a list of qualities she likes about him and then Jazz realizes she’s compiling what is essentially a list of reasons to see him again after this.
Somehow, despite all of the new weirdness in her life, she’s fine with this.
“You help the hot people of Corinth get hotter,” She motions towards him with her drink in her hand, the remainder of the liquid sloshing against the rim of her glass as she does so. “And I give them the most enthusiastic guided tours Monday through Wednesday.” Her glass tips back and finishes it off before setting it back on the bar and sliding it towards the opposite side. “It’s um, it’s a long story. The Anastasia thing.” Her eyes go from the empty glass to him and her smile is small, almost shy even. It is the gentlest way to say that it is a lot, that she feels like a lot for other people.
Something about the way her eyes are moving a mile a minute made him wonder what the hell she was thinking. He hoped there was something behind there that thought something better of him than he thought of himself. Jerrik couldn’t just have his brother on his side. And Arvid barely thought anything of him either. Well, in the little brother sense at least. It would mean the world to him if it was Jazz though. He had just met her, but there was a lot about her that he liked. There was the little voice in his head telling him to run away and not get attached. That was the better option and he was not very fond of listening to that voice until it made him. Jerrik was trying his best to ignore it now though. Maybe that was the better option. Easier said than done, he thought to himself.
“I guess you could say that. Hot is subjective though.” Beauty was something he saw only when it mattered. Jazz’s beauty came with the words she said. Jerrik wasn’t attracted to anything but that. Hopefully, that was what mattered to her, too. Not that he had to worry about something like that after the first meeting. How was he thinking about the next time when they hadn’t even left each other yet. His eyes moved from the bottle in front of him then back to her. A short, barely there chuckle left his mouth. “Yeah. I’m sure you get great reviews. You’re easy to listen to.” And easy to talk to. It made him forget about a lot that was going on in his head. Her words made him nod slowly. “Well...I’m all ears whenever you want to talk about it. If you want to talk about it.” He turned his head towards the exit. “I should be heading home though.” There was a part of him that felt like he needed to go now. His hand lifted to grab the pen in his pocket while the other grabbed a napkin. Then he wrote his number down on it. “If you ever want to talk about the whole Anastasia thing.”
I don’t know if I’m worth all this, Steve.

Unfazed by Jerrik’s grumpy demeanor and rejection of Leon’s offer, the shifter continues to smile. “Ah come on, don’t be like that. You’ve always got such a sourpuss look to you.” As the bartender approaches, Leon orders and waits for his unwilling companion to do the same before adding, “Make sure to put it on my tab.” His gaze was back on Jerrik a moment later. “So, how was your latest fight? You’ve look like you’ve had better outcomes.”
“You ever think that it’s because I don’t fucking like you? That might be it, I think.” Jerrik never hid how he felt about certain people. He only wished they would pick that up for themselves instead of antagonizing him. “Are you going to keep talking to me or do I have to walk away now?”
harlow-daniels:
“Alright love,” Harlow’s in something less revealing but still sparkly as she perches herself at the bar next to the burly man who wound up in the audience of most of her shows. Everyone’s shows actually, he spent a lot of time at Ambrosia. He was hard to forget, it was the big blue eyes, she thinks. “I think at this point, I’m allowed to give you a survey about my acts considering you have seen just about all of them.” Greece was different than Vegas, it was a little more…She had no idea at what point she looked tacky. @jerriklykos
The woman was a recent addition to Ambrosia, that much he knew. Unfortunately, for Jerrik, that meant that she would notice that he was a regular in the place. He didn’t particularly mind, but it also meant that he would get questioned. Like right now. “A survey?” He turned his head to her as he waited for his drink. “Seven for today.”

“You look different.” Arvid pointed out, he leaned in and sniffed the air between him and his brother noting the distinct scent of the witch’s own body wash. Something was up, Jerrik never smelled so clean. “You smell different.” He wrinkled his nose at the pungent stench of poorly chosen cologne. The video game that Arvid had been playing was abandoned behind him as he scrutinized his brother who was on his way out. “What’s going on with you?”
Arvid was asking too many questions and Jerrik was not a fan of it. Gods forbid he try to put on some damn cologne. He would never do it again now, but it was the thought that counted. Of course, now his brother’s full attention was on him and he couldn’t escape any of it. “Nothing. There’s nothing different about me.”

“That’s why I keep you around,” Arvid sighed, “my big old meathead-brother.” At least magic had given his brother back his arm after he’d lost it, something they still rarely spoke about. Jerrik’s -voices- were the pressing matter though. Especially because the man couldn’t discern if it was his own voice speaking or someone else’s. “Have you told anyone else about this?” Arvid pressed again as he kept his eyes trained on Jerrik, “Do you think it might be supernatural or…?”
“Really? That’s the only reason you keep me around, huh?” Jerrik simply shook his head at Arvid. Of course he would put in some backhanded compliment. He never expected anything less from his brother. “I haven’t. I don’t trust anyone else.” Only Arvid and possibly Anders. “No. I don’t think so. It just tells me to do things. And I just do them.” Like kill that boy that had embarrassed his brother. It made him do things he didn’t particularly want to do, but he did anyway.
