So, I'm screaming "justice for Jess" basically during the whole series, because our boy deserved so much better than the way the people in Stars Hollow/the show treated him.
But what makes me happy and where the show outdoes itself and finally gives Jess what he deserves is season 6. And we really should speak more about it.
It's not just that he wrote a book, which that alone is already a big accomplishment, but he wrote a book that got published. And as this is not enough, the said publishing company gives him a job.
Just think about how good The Subsect actually must be and what a great impression Jess has left on the Truncheon guys that not only did they decide to publish his book but also offered him a job?!?! They knew how good and smart he is, they believed in him, and I'm just thinking how happy Jess must have felt at that moment.
And then, a few months later, we basically see him co-running this company. And we see how passionate he is about his job, a place where he gets the recognition that he deserves.
Also, not to forget how he was able to "escape" New York, a place that somehow is his home, but it's also filled with so much pain and bad memories. Him being able to move to Philadelphia and move in with his co-workers, who are also becoming his friends, is so precious to me.
We also know that he still works in this field years later, and "the book press is going great." We don't know if he still works at Truncheon, but let's just assume it.
People really shouldn't overlook this, because this is huge. He worked so hard for this; he probably had plenty of shitty jobs during his time in NY, living in creepy apartments, and just randomly writes a book in his spare time. He did this all on his own. Not only that, but he had no one's help, (apart Rorys words in his head that she always believed in him or like he said "I couldn't have done it without you") and yet, or maybe because of that, he became so successful.
This show often shows how important money and privilege are to accomplish a certain goal, Jess had none of this and yet he’s shining.
Jess Mariano is way too powerful.
