Nicolette’s confused expression remained as he spoke, a shrug leaving her shoulders.  “Everyone needs or wants something.  That’s why people talk.  Without needing Orr wanting something, we’d all be living in a silent film.” 

“That’s a really pessimistic view,” Jesse said seriously. “But if that’s the way you want to play it then I guess my want would be to talk to you and see how much I can get to know you before you storm off, which I sense is coming pretty soon, am I right?”

“Ahh now that does make more sense.”  Addison laughed at her mistake.  “Well that’s good– though winning is always good.”

“You said it,” Jesse said simply. “So if it wasn’t you that night, then where do I know you from?”

brynn-foster:

Brynn gave the male a questioning look, waiting for him to laugh at his last comment.  She wasn’t the kind of girl to attend parties, let alone get invited.  “Me?”  She spoke again before realizing he was serious.  “Oh, you’re not joking– I don’t know, they’re not really my thing.”

Jesse chuckled lightly at her response. “That’s what everyone who’s never been to an ATO party says,” he said looking to her with slightly wide eyes. “I know you’d like it if you went, but I won’t force you. Listen it’s tonight, pregame at 9, party at 10. I can text you the address if you want, I’d just need your number?”

“Can I help you or something?”  Nicolette shook her head, wondering what the point of this conversation was.

Jesse held back a chuckle at the girl’s feisty reply. He couldn’t help but to think the defensive attitude made her all the more interesting. “Can’t a guy talk to a girl without needing anything from her?”

"Mm well then maybe I just recognize you from here,” Jesse said simply as he pulled out his fake ID and held it out for the bartender to take when he was done with the other customer. “Can I just get an IPA?”

Absolutely not. I wouldn’t be caught dead at an ATO party for the very reason you can’t remember your partner’s appearance, much less their name. But, I’m sure you can find your answer if you knock on every sorority’s door and ask for their sloppiest drunk. Kind of like Cinderella, except you’re not a prince and you’re trying to see if the pong ball fits.

Jesse let out a small, but genuine laugh at the girl’s comment. “Alright, that’s fair, but at the same time, it doesn’t sound like you’re doing college right if you don’t go to at least one ATO party. You really should consider attending the next one, get as sloppy drunk as possible, and then we can see if the pong ball fits for you.”

Addison let out a small laugh at the male’s comment.  “As fun as a ping-pong match at a party sounds, that was not me.”  She wrinkled her nose lightly.  “Did you win though?”

“Ahh, not ping-pong, beer pong,” Jesse corrected the girl. “And of course I won, I always win.”

brynn-foster:

Brynn was taken slightly off guard by the male’s excitement, not expecting that or his comment.  “ATO?”  She asked, before recognizing it as a fraternity at the local college.  “Oh– me?  No that wasn’t me.  Sorry.”

“Oh,” Jesse said slightly disappointed and slightly embarrassed. “Well you should come to the next one then, you look like you’d have a killer shot.”

“I don’t suppose so, no.”  She raised an eyebrow slightly.

“I guess I can’t blame you,” Jesse said with a shrug, “I’m sure you hear them all the time. Probably gets old.”

Jesse smiled over to the person beside him with excitement, “Hey, you were my pong partner at the ATO party last weekend, right?”

“You’re not serious?  Are you?”  Nicolette spoke as she gave the other a puzzled look, not able to tell if their last comment had been sarcasm or serious.

“Of course I am,” Jesse said casually. “Not a fan a pick up lines?”
