« they fuck you up…—— your mom and dad. they may not mean to, but they do. they f i l l you with the faults they had —— and add some EXTRA, just for you. »
The point is… to live one’s life in the full complexity of what one is, which is something much darker, more contradictory, more of a maelstrom of impulses and passions, of cruelty, ecstacy, and madness, than is apparent to the civilized being who glides on the surface and fits smoothly into the world.

Everything I Know | Jess & Alex.
alexanderwarren:
“I’m pretty sure I broke his ribs and nose, maybe his jaw?” the blue-eyed male offered with a shrug and a smirk. Alexander was a peaceful person, as peaceful as he could be in his line of work. He didn’t let hate or resentment rule him, except when it came to his father. There was something about the man that made it almost impossible for the agent to NOT hate him or want to punch him. Most people didn’t understood, frowned upon the idea of him having such a rivalry with his father. It was just nice to know Jessica wasn’t one of those people and if anything, encouraged it. Sure, he could’ve gotten himself in big trouble, but it had been worth it. He had done it for his mom, Jack, Jess, her mother and himself.
“To be fair, I didn’t exactly lied to you” he pointed out before shooting her an apologetic grin. “I legally changed my name when I was old enough, I didn’t want to have anything to do with him so I changed my last name and well, he is the one who called me Jordan, so I just—- got rid of it. My birth certificate does have Alexander in it” the male shrugged. He had never told that story to anyone out loud. It was new, for both of them. Still, Alex found himself smiling at his sister. They were there to stay.
“I did! It’s… Claire and I have a complicated story” the agent warned with a laugh, shaking his head to himself. “I proposed to her years ago, shit went down and we had to break up. By shit I mean, I messed up really bad. We parted ways for like, ten years and now we got a second chance” he mused with a grin, chewing his inner cheek. As the brunette assured him she had no intention on selling anything he had handed her whatsoever, he couldn’t help but beam. She had agreed on keeping a piece of history of their family because of him, and that fact enough made all the events prior to that moment somehow worth it. “I think it kinda fits you” he commented with half a grin.
“It’s a shame you didn’t break his......well, the more delicate parts of his anatomy, keep him from doing THIS to anymore people.”, Jess laughed, making a grand, sweeping gesture with her hands. For all she knew, there were god knows how many more siblings running around as unaware of things as she had been until just a few moments prior. She supposed it could have been worse, though; For years, she had been able to fool herself into creating these grand imaginations of what kind of man her father must be - Alex had had to live with the knowledge of the true scumbag that Justin really was.
Rolling her eyes, she glanced over at him and tried not to laugh (and failed ‘but that’s neither here nor there’, she thought to herself). “Spoken like a true bullshitter. Hell, you and I might just have somethin’ in common after all!” The desire to become someone - anyone - else that wasn’t connected to the past was a desire that Jess could understand; Every move she had made since her Mom died was made in an effort to forget, to not have any attachment to the elder Walker woman. Little did she know that her efforts resulted in her following in the footsteps that her mother had left for her down addiction road.
“Well”, she began, running her hand through her hair (a habit she had developed that only came out during stressful times). “I’d say that this is your second chance - in more ways than one. The shit that we did before...it’s in the past, albeit the relatively recent past, but still. You got the chance to do it over again, you make goddamned sure that you do it right this time.” Their individual pasts were turmoltuous at best and godawful nightmares at worst, but it didn’t have to define their futures. This was different than before, at least for Jess; Life had thrown her a curve ball, sure, but it had also given her someone to lean on, someone who was going through it right next to her. Holding the jewelry up to herself, she busted out in chuckles again. “Oh yeah, I can really see myself wearing this to work everyday and NOT getting pick pocketed.”
