i do try, however, to combat my insecurities by remembering 3 facts:

every artist has a different artistic journey and wants different things out of both the art they make and the art they consume.

you are the only person who sees those tiny flaws in your finished work.

you have to make “bad” art first to make “good” art later!!

The Zhanna and Herb beef in the Mafia au (Im assuming it’s one sided, Idk if Herbert even cares what Misha’s sisters think of him)

oh yeah, herb does not give a shit AT ALL. he knows zhanna hates him but he only care's when she takes part in her annoying habit of getting in between him and mikhail when they're visiting mikhail's family.

she'll sit between them at dinner and in the living room and then whisk mikhail away to chat elsewhere for the rest of the night. she hopes the separation will help her brother realize he prefers being without herb... but it just means he misses his wife a ton by the end of the visit

Is there lore for the Minoan au perchance?

not as of right now! with a culture this ancient and misunderstood i'd like to really study it before i synthesize any sort of narrative utilizing its concepts.

i know it takes place during the late Minoan IA era (1700-1625 BC) and i like the idea of medic being some kind of spiritual figure, but that's all the thoughts i really have at the moment.
