      Danny was so not awake enough for this. He was still rubbing the sleep from his eyes while she was going on about infinite numbers of opinions and he’d only just pushed himself up into a sitting position when she came back holding his jar of peanut butter. “You knew I’d—hang on. You want to take my peanut butter? But that’s my peanut butter. What if I have a peanut butter emergency and there’s nothing to be done, because you’ve taken my only jar? I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask why you need it.”

Jess planted herself on the end of the couch, waiting for the approval. In reality, even if he said no, he was too deep in his sleep state to match her reflexes, and she'd take it, but she'd like to consume this peanut butter with some moral state. "Well, I'll give it back. I'm not just some thief who takes peanut confectionary. Trust me, you'll never be in the dilemma I'm in right now. I need it to perfect an old family recipe, and if you deny me this spread, you're basically disrespecting the family of Day. Pretty big disrespect if you ask me."

Swinging the fridge door open, her eyes flickered shelf to shelf for what she was looking for, her hand swooping in for the kill. A pleased Jess came out of the kitchen, only with a jar of peanut butter in her hand, "I knew you'd be the type of guy to keep it in the fridge. Can I have this?"
