I was particularly interested in the glass-like textures of the crystals, as seen in the above image. In order to explore this I used ice and different paints to create a translucent sculpture. I continued to take photographs as the ice melted, observing how the shapes and textures changed.

The start of Final Major Project. Main inspiration gathered from a research visit to the Natural History Museum, London, to see the crystal and mineral collections. I recorded my observations through drawings and photographs and they remained the main inspiration throughout the project.
