“Nice to meet you, Jet.” He smiled over at her once again, glancing down to her novel. “What are you reading?”
“The Great Gatsby,” she answered with a shrug. Jet had read it before, but only so many books enticed her in the library.

“Nice to meet you, Jet.” He smiled over at her once again, glancing down to her novel. “What are you reading?”
“The Great Gatsby,” she answered with a shrug. Jet had read it before, but only so many books enticed her in the library.
natbyrne:
“New guard. Natalie.” She frowned at the patient’s violent reaction. “Can I help you with something? Directions away from restricted areas?”
“Fuck..” Jet muttered under her breath. “No; I should get back to my room.”
natbyrne:
This wasn’t the first time that Natalie was making her rounds through the building. But it was the first time without another guard there. No one was guiding her or reminding her of the protocol for any misconduct she came across. Lucky break for the patient she stumbled across, she wasn’t really into causing scenes or filing paperwork. “You can try and tell me differently, but I don’t think you’re supposed to be back here.” she tapped her foot to alert them of her presence. “Or at least, not supposed to picking that lock. How did you ever manage to get a paper clip?”
The sudden encounter made Jet jump back, tucking the bent paperclip in her waistband. If only the guard was a few moments later, the patient would’ve been inside and out of plain view. “Shit. Who the fuck are you?” she questioned the unfamiliar face.
What's yr favorite Simon and Garfunkel song to suck face to?
“Simon & Garfunkel really sets the mood, man. I’ve never ‘sucked face’ to any music ever and I know maybe three of S&G’s songs. I’ll just go with whatevers the most depressing.”
spencermaybe:
“Sorry- I didn’t mean to run into you… I can’t see, so-.” He sighed softly, hoping that for once the person he’d run into would believe him. Although if they’d met any of Spencer’s other alters they most likely wouldn’t. “
Jet stumbled backward landing on her ass, just barely keeping herself away from the stranger. It was too close for comfort - hers at least. The feeling of the tiled floor on her palms lured out the feeling of patheticness that had lingered as of late. “It’s fine,” she unconvincingly lied before swallowing harshly and pushing herself up.
octavixsldn:
“Oh. Then thank you. Like, a lot.” He chuckled briefly, glancing around before choosing another place to sit, and drawing his knees to his chest. “I’m Octavius, by the way.”
She joined him on the floor with a safe distance between them to avoid any contact. “M’Jet,” she replied as she crossed her legs, letting her book rest in the nest they created.
octavixsldn:
“Are you - are you sure? I don’t mind leaving, I was just sitting there. Plenty of other places to do that around here.” He chuckled softly, smiling over at her.
“Yeah totally,” Jet reassured him. She knew how hard it was to find a calm place in Eichen. It was a home for the insane after all.“There’s other places, but most of them have people who will bug you. It kinda sucks.”
octavixsldn:
“… Oh.” Octavius paused all movement before scrambling to his feet in a brief moment of panic. “Sorry - I didn’t know.” Rubbing the back of his neck, he stepped aside. “Good spot, though.”
“No, no--” Jet tried to wave away his panic. “You can stay. I just came to read.” She wasn’t upset about someone else being under the stairs. In fact, maybe it would be good for her to actually interact with someone lately.
octavixsldn:
“Oh, no.. I wasn’t hiding, I was just-. Looking for some peace and quiet, I guess.”
“Well this is kind of--” Jet paused to scratch her head and look over the small area. Underneath the stairwell was actually her hiding spot and the unfamiliar patient apparently gravitated towards it too. “--kinda my spot.”
it never made any sense, anything.
And I can’t eat, can’t sleep, can’t sit still or fix things and I wake up and I wake up and
you’re still dead.
You just found 100 $ - How are you going to spend it?
“A hundred dollars around here? That’s not all that useful. I’d probably tuck it away and save it for when I get outta here.”
xxignatius:
“I see . . Well, u-um– that’s c-cool too,” he said, not used to people correcting him so suddenly. Although it may not have been meant to sound as such, he took it to have been said with aggressive intent.
“Eh, technicalities, y’know?” Jet replied, too tired to notice his less than enthusiastic reply. “I like knowin’ though. Kind of like a fun fact about me. Not much to me really.”
xxignatius:
“Thank-ks– Jet’s a p-pretty cool name t-too,” he said, flashing her a small, shy smile. Even though she was the only patient he’d met so far, she seemed nice - far from the psychotic murderers he’d dealt with in the past.
“Technically it’s an acronym,” she corrected him. Jet had knowledge on a few topics and her name was one of them. “Some people say an abbreviation, but that’s things like Mr. or Dr.”
xxignatius:
“Oh, c-crap– I n-never told you. Sorry. It-t’s Doct-tor Mercury– or Ignatius, or Iggy. What-tever you’d lik-ke, really.” His stutter made it seem like he was nervous to be walking through the asylum, and he wasn’t sure whether it was that, or just the fact that he was naturally a nervous person.
“That’s a cool name,” Jet replied. People in Eichen seemed to have more interesting names than people on the outside. It was odd, like all the loonies were marked with the distinction of a uncommon name.
xxignatius:
“A-Alright … R-Room 306, right? J-Just, um . . f-follow me, I g-guess.”
With a nod she followed behind her new therapist. Jet wrapped her arms around her ribs. “What’s your name?” she asked after a short period of silence.
xxignatius:
“I c-can walk you b-back t-to your room, if y-you’d like. You won’t-t g-get into t-trouble that way, if a-anyone finds you … ”
Jet was going to decline, but Thaddeus wasn’t in her room that evening and the last thing she needed was a stint in ISO. “Uh-- yeah, that’d be cool.”
xxignatius:
“Jet-t– from your, um, i-initials? That-t’s interest-ting; I’ve n-never heard of a-anyone doing that b-before,” he said, managing half a smile.
“Yeah,” she returned his smile with a tired one. “I should probably go. Rounds are soon..”
