“Ah, the ol’ disappointed glares. I’m pretty familiar with looks of disappointment.” He joked once more, but lightly shook his head some. “Nah, I’ve come to terms with the fact that some people just aren’t talkers.” He stated. He glanced out from underneath the awning, up at the grey clouds up above and hummed some. “Looks like the rain is slowing down some.”

“Well, damn, is it that obvious that I’m that big of a softie?” He questioned curiously, but only continued to gently smile. “I can’t argue though - I would feel pretty crappy if someone got hurt because of something I did.” He agreed. Jett’s perspective of what made for a powerful bad guy was fairly accurate, if Arynn had any opinion on the matter. “What brought you to Creation Peaks instead of sticking around some place like Japan?” He leaned against the boarded up shop doors behind them.

"Yeah, so am I." They stopped effecting him a few years back when he stopped giving a damn about the opinion of others and learned some just like being toxic because their life sucks and they haven't watched enough tv dramas to supplement their need for it. Looking up, Jett attempted to mentally reach out to the water dropping down from above. Not to force it down more, but to feel out how much of it there was. Arynn was right, it didn't feel as 'heavy' as before. His face forming a slight look of disappoint of his own.

"You give out that vibe. The rambling thing kind of gives it off. There's a reason being quiet is cliché with the mysterious and thus questionable thing." Which was something that his family definitely believed in. The less someone knew about them, the less power they had to effect them and their lives. In a way, it was true, but also, a bit too lonely for his taste. Jett lit out a deep breath at the other's question as to why he was here. "Well.... controlling, strict, traditional family meets skilled and talented step son. Step son is rebellious, too energetic, and ends up liking men and women. Definitely didn't go well unless I'd keep my 'activities' a deeply hidden secret. So, on the other side of the planet now."

nadia  smiled  at  his  words, he  couldn’t  help  but  notice  some  melancholy  in  his  words, she  didn’t  know  where  he  was  but,  sounded  relaxing, at  least  she  would  have  enjoyed  a  place  like  that.  she  loved  those  rainy  days,  she  liked  those  better  when  she  was  at  home  but  that  wasn’t  something she  could  really control.  “  where  are  you  from  ?  ”

"Originally, America. But my bio father died shortly after my birth and my mother remarried when I was still a baby. Spent most of my life in Japan where my step father is from." Of course, she didn't need to know about the whole fox thing that they all had going on. "Came to town after a rather traditional family discovered some of my non 'traditional' ... believe the word they used was lifestyle?"

Kitty relaxed a little as she realised she wasn’t as wet as she’d first thought. She wrinkled her nose as he called the place boring for having good weather. “I don’t know that it’s good. It just hasn’t stormed. People have been showing up dead, so I wouldn’t call it a boring place, if you like that kind of thing.” Kitty didn’t care for it, but she also didn’t have anywhere else she could go.

"Ahhh yes, I was told about Halloween or, something surrounding halloween. I was out of town for a couple of weeks before and after it so I missed what happened." From what rumors he heard both from humans and non human sources, it sounded like quite the event. Jett was glad he was away, he could only image the things that could be conjured from his mind and stories as a child. "So this quiet little place isn't so quiet it seems."

Looking up to the sky, the other’s comment was perceived much differently. Technology had come a long way, yet humans seemed to not have changed all that much, and neither had the sky. “Maybe that’s why it still exists,” he mused. “One of it’s kind type of thing.” He shrugged, attention now taken by the comment on coffee. “I get it.”

The Light Faye chuckled when told he was a firefighter and added what seemed to Marshall like a nice little joke. “Ah. We work at the same… area.” Well, the Sheriff’s department was letting the firefighters stay on their property, but it wasn’t the time for trivial rivalries. “But hey, nice! I always did love those firefighter outfits.” And the one at My Alibi didn’t even seem like a real firefighter suit. “They’re great. That watertruck is great.”

"In time almost everything changes. However, so few notice that those changes are really just a return to the old ways." It was a bit of a random comment, at least in the current situation. However, it was a simplified version of one his grandfather used to say a lot. The man was practically older than the dirt on the ground and Jett always suppose, he was both old and observant enough to realize the truth in those words. He especially loved to use while talking about how stubborn Jett was like water which always found a way to continue flowing around most obstacles put in its path.

Shaking his head, Jett let out another laugh. "Seriously, who came up with these names? I suppose it would be like asking what dad liked his jokes so much he plastered them on billboards." Granted, some of them were pretty good in their own way at least. Although a place called My Alibi definitely made him think it was one particular type of place. "But if you know me from the station and you're definitely not a fire fighter I recognize, I'm guessing that means your a cop eh?"

“Uh, I am, sorry, I tend to forget that not everyone else is.” Arynn responded with a small nodding, but his expression softened some as the male assured him it wasn’t a ‘bad thing’. “I never understood the whole ‘grunting silent type’ thing - just never made sense to me.” He shook his head lightly. A smile stayed plastered to his features a she mused about the man’s joking.

“What? I could totally pull off being a ‘bad guy’! Send out burner messages all night and keep annoying people away from me by day - it’s genius, really.” He joked himself and laughed.

"Some people just don't want to waste the energy on words. Others are surprisingly expressive with their grunts. Although, I do find it being the elderly back home that are more the grunting types. As well as the ones that can make you feel some type of way with their disappointed glares." A look he had somewhat gotten used to from his step father and one he definitely didn't miss the feelng of now that he was as far away from it as he could be.

"Mmmmmm" He thought about it for a second. "Nah, I get the feeling you'd either feel bad the moment you hear someone was affected by it. Or would low key let it slip to one person which would turn into two or three within a short time. True villainy needs to remain anonymous and boundary pushing. It's always so much more powerful when the face of the bad guy can be anyone's and everyone's face."

“Comic book place, I guess describes it better, but the bakery section is great,” he complimented of Nova’s spot. “We still talking about coffee, right?” Marshall asked, leaning in, unbothered by the rain that blanketed them. “I’m down to try whatever at least once,” he added, never one to say no to a party all the same. 

Amused by the other’s reaction, a smile tugged at the corners of his lips. However, as he was questioned, the Light Faye now doubted himself. Pointing hand went to his own chin, rubbing it while in thought. “Hmmm… What’s your name?” the deputy tried, wondering if he was experiencing side-effects from Halloween or his age was getting to him at last. 

"Comics books? surprised those places still exist in the age where you can just download everything off the internet." Comics where a bit of a new thing to him. At least, to any real fan that knows the difference between comics and the entertain that existed on his side of the world. "Coffee though, that definitely is something that takes getting used to. Never really drunk it before since the smell of it was something I couldn't stand as a kid."

A smirk crossed over his face as Marshall thought about it. "Firefighter. Well, I was working as an EMT for a while. However, they let me on the truck in the last couple of months." I'd keep to himself the few times they actually got called for a fire that required him to be less than graceful with the use of his abilities. Luckily, smoke and fire were big attention grabs compared to water moving in a way it probably shouldn't have.

that  morning  she  had  decided to  walk  there, but  the  second she  saw  a  dark  cloud  outside  when  she  left,  made  her  regret  her  decision.  the  banshee  wasn’t going  to  run,  mostly  because she  didn’t  want  to  fall  down,  but  she  liked  the  feeling of  the  rain  over  her.  “  it  really  did  ”  she  said  taking her  hand  over  her  eyes,  just  to  be  able  to  look  at  the  other  without  having  to  deal  with  a  droplet  getting into  her  eyes.  “  i  hope  so,  it’s  been  a  while, and  we  could  use  that  cold  breeze that  storms  bring  ”

"They were common where I grew up and those of us that relied on them or just really enjoyed them were thankful for that." It was used to train his abilities, heavy rain and throwing him into a pool before he knew how to swim. His step father wasn't exactly gentle with the Kitsune in his family, less so with one that wasn't 'blood kin' to them. It helped that he always felt better, stronger when in or around water. Rather that was something that came from what he was or was in his head was something he never really questioned. the feeling and results where something he never wanted to risk losing.

Mike had stepped out of Three Spoons when the rain began, quickly opening his umbrella so he could start the journey back to Howie’s Oddities. At first, most around him did the same, venturing into the street without a problem. But as the rainfall became more intense, people hurried to find shelter in the nearby buildings, leaving the archangel to walk on the sidewalk alone. Or so he thought. Brown eyes settled on the kitsune, Mike’s brow furrowing slightly at how unbothered he seemed by the rain. “It’s possible,” he answered. “Though nothing of that sort has been said on the news.” Still, with the forces at play in Creation Peaks, sudden abnormalities in the weather weren’t surprising. “Do you want help getting out of the rain?” He lifted his umbrella slightly, an invitation for the other to seek shelter if he wanted to.

Something seemed to.... respond in some way to this man’s presence.  Tilting his head, slightly, Jett could feel something questionable coming from the man, something old, even only than his grandfather who he simply called 'the one with many tails'. At the offer of space under the umbrella, Jett automatically went into his true answer. "Rain is kind of my thing...." He paused for a few seconds before correcting. "But I suppose it would be best."

“A wonderful thing, rain. Destructive, but most wonderful things can be.” Gabriel grinned up at the sky and then back at the creature in front of him. “You got me there. Guess it’s not the most foolproof system, but it’s still kinda fun.” The thunder and lightning weren’t too close and it was well within his power to keep in that way, which he would. It was a good day, the kind of day that didn’t deserve it’s precious little moments to be altered by the more extreme side of weather. “Something like that, yeah.” He left it vague, not wanting to flat out reveal his true nature but opposed to lying directly to people when asked. It’s not as if humans and others weren’t already aware of angels, but a bit of subtlety never hurt anyone. 

"I suppose it can be if used right or left unchecked. Definitely not as out of control as its opposite in those same conditions though." Jett had been trained to use his powers in that way. Although, it wasn't typically seen as a wild destructive force which was probably what made it so surprising when it was. "Lightning is definitely the less fun part of a storm...no matter how many times you're used to it's touch." The last half of his sentence was spoken in a rather low and his breath more than anything. "Oh, that's interesting, wouldn't have thought normal guys would be so resistant to weather like that." Of course, there were definitely quite a few species that scurried into hiding when rain came. But of humanoid kind, there was really only the one that name came from that panic over it.

As soon as the sky darkened, Kitty groaned, the rain falling down before she could even react. She’d only left the trailer to go and get some milk, promising her brother she’d do it while he was at work, since she’d been the one to finish it. But now she was just standing in a downpour, a bottle of milk in her hand, pouting. She hadn’t realised the other was speaking to her at first, running under the nearest store awning.

“Were you talking to me?” She asked, confused, before she awkwardly shrugged her shoulders. “Maybe? It hasn’t stormed for a few weeks.”

"More speaking into the ether really." She didn't look to happy, even more so given she was now soaked. With a half smirk, Jett moved slowly under the same awning. His fingers move against his sweater as if he was attempting to brush off some of the water. However, the motion also caused a collect of it to 'wipe' off the girl's back. Pulling water off of something or someone was a trick he had learned a long time ago. "So, a place of goo weather then, well, that's a little boring. A bit of unexpected circumstances makes things more interesting."

“Nature’s great. As long as there aren’t a lot of those annoying bugs always trying to take a bite out of you, I don’t mind being outside at all. The woods around here are pretty nice most of the time. It sounds like it would have been an amazing place to grow up.” Arynn offered with a warm smile. He stuck a hand out to feel the cold droplets once more as he listened to Jett speak for a moment.

“I may have exaggerated a little bit, but the weather around here’s usually not too terrible. You get used to it eventually.” He shrugged his shoulders. “Jett. Cool name. Mine’s just Arynn.” He grinned sheepishly. “J… that’s cool. I always wondered what it’d be like to have a ‘J’-name and be able to go by that. Can’t really go by ‘A’, it just sounds weird.” He chuckled to himself.

"You're definitely a talker aren't you." He had just blurted it out. Not like he wasn't already getting use to it. However, it definitely wasn't normal where he grew up. Those around him where more the 'talk with a look' type of people. A habit Jett himself had picked up. However, he didn't see what was so bad with using your words. "Not that its a bad thing. Most people I grew up around would just use grunts or gestures. Mostly ones of disappointment or annoyance when it came from the older folk."

A short chuckle came out of him at the mention of their names. "Well, you could always just send text messages from a burner with 'A' and sound like the villian from that one show. Hopefully now one is the type to drag out everyone that has a name that starts with it and questions you all. I have a feeling you'd be looked at pretty quickly."

Marshall couldn’t help chuckling at the resident’s observation, having the ability to find anything funny. “Better late than never?” Marshall tried with a shrug of his shoulders, before letting out another chuckle. 

He wasn’t wrong, many had changed completely, and Marshall was only about two centuries old… What had his recently fallen friend lived through? What had he lost? What was he living behind other than secrets? “Yea… The world has change in many ways,” the off-duty deputy shared ambiguously before his gaze studied his companion a little closer. “If we really make a club, I’ll bring the sweets. Geeks&Freaks has the best baked goods in town,” the Light Faye promised with a hint of hope. “Hey, I know you from work,” he pointed out after a moment, index finger pointing at the younger man. 

"There's a snack placed called Geeks & Freaks?" Jett asked with a bit of amusement in his voice. He couldn't even begin to imagine how people some up with that kind of name for a place. Not that he was any good at coming up with names for things himself himself. With his line of thought he'd probably just name any store he opened 'Food & Stuff'. "I'd be more likely to bring drinks. I find the stuff around these parts a bit weak compared to what I'm used to back home." Of course, that was more a cultural and location thing more than anything. As Marshall pointed his finger at him, Jett turned slightly so it pointed a bit behind him. "Oh, you do do ya? Should I be concerned about someone watching me?"

“Well, I am kinda thirsty now that you mention it. And two bucks for a plastic bottle and some water is outrageous, but I just really like the rain. I mean…how can you not? It’s miraculous. Kinda cold, but that’s never bothered me.” Gabriel smiled, raking his hand through his hair to shove the sopping strands out of his face. “The lightning’s getting closer. I remember hearing somewhere that if you could the seconds before you hear thunder after you see the flash, you can tell how many miles away it is.” Not that he needed to guestimate to figure out how far away it was, but where was the fun in just knowing? 

"Well can't argue about that pricing. Especially when you can just get it for free from the air." Jett wasn't going to go into full detail about how he'd literally pluck the moisture from the air to fill a cup or bottle. It wasn't a kind of conversation that he had would complete strangers. "That depends on where you live. mountainous or an area with a lot of hills will cause the sound to bounce and echo too much to correctly count the distance." Jett was always careful around lightning. He had not gained enough control over his abilities to protect himself against it and sometimes when back home, he suspected someone might have been causing it to struck around him. "I take it you're not afraid of catching a cold? or are you one of us that never really get sick from the cold and rain?"

“Seriously? Dude, that’s awesome - I’ve always wanted to visit Japan! Is it as glamorous as people make it out to be, or do we over-exaggerate it like we do everything else?” Arynn questioned intently before chuckling some. “Yeah, I’ve lived here all twenty-four years of my life and I still don’t think I’m used to this town or the weather or anything about this place.” He sighed. Especially not since Halloween. A rumble of thunder overhead had Arynn peering out from beneath the awning as far as he could afford to lean without getting wetter once more.

“I hope it doesn’t flood. These streets really aren’t conducive for draining. We’ll have puddles standing in the dips and ditches for at least a couple of days at this rate..” He mused some. “Oh - I’m Arynn.” It clicked that he should probably introduce himself at least and offered a mostly-dried hand to the man.

Yep, definitely an overly energetic puppy if he ever saw one. Not that it was a bad thing, it was an energy that so few displayed publicly back home. "Depends if you like nature or not. My step family is rather traditional and spent little time in what could be called 'big cities'. However, nature there is beautiful and more common to see it preserved while keeping modern amenities in the homes I lived in." A fact Jett always made sure to apply as many in the western world assumed living surrounded by nature meant missing many of modern touches people have grown to rely on these days.

"Ahhh so its common for this place to be a basic wetland? Wonder why they bother with a fire department then." a short laugh escaped from him as he listened to the other introduce himself. "I'm Jett. Although, most just call me J after a while." He wasn't about to mention the other common nickname people used when they learned what he was. A fox with just two tails, it wasn't much of a wonder why they called him Tails after the sidekick of that blue hedgehog.

“I’d say the storm is already here,” Gabriel laughed, tilting his head back to enjoy the simple joy he got from standing in the rain. He didn’t even bother trying to play human and rush for cover, not when the alternative was so refreshing. Even with the rumble of thunder in the background and the downpour of freezing water drenching his clothes and seeping into his shoes through their thin canvas exterior, he didn’t have it in him to find it anything less than fantastic. “Wonder if it’ll get any worse. Sometimes these kinda things just drop in for a second then clear away as quickly as they came.” 

"Almost as if someone conjured it." Jett spoke with an amused tone. Definitely something that was out of his reach, at least, anything that could drench a town. Although, it wouldn't surprise him if that was a cause, bad weather was always a convenient means in which to conceal activities that some would have other's not witness. "I didn't know there were others in town that enjoyed water so much. Or maybe someone is just really thirsty and the price of a bottle of water is too outrageous in these parts?"

Water droplets were tossed in all directions as Arynn shook himself as dry as he could after ducking under the small shopfront awning. He laughed at the young man that stepped into the join him and wiped the dampness from his face for a moment. “You know, I was watching the clouds get darker and darker and this still caught me by surprise. I don’t know if it’s an ominous sign of a greater storm or just a freak surprise shower.” He laughed some. “Can’t ever tell in the Peaks.”

Shivering as the air hit him, he fidgeted in place a moment before looking at the young man. “You from around here?” He questioned lightly as he watched the rain continue to fall. Thankfully the shop front they had sought shelter underneath wasn’t an open business. No worry about getting yelled at for ‘loitering around’.

The small guy reminded him of a puppy that had just hopped out of the bath. The way he shook the water away and the energetic vibe he was giving off. Jett couldn't help but chuckle a bit as it reminded him of someone he knew. "To town? yeah I am. Was born in California but raised in Japan by my step family. Been in town the last six months. Still getting the lay of the land and... the weather apparently."

Not that he wasn't used to mountain regions. His home was in the lowlands where it was more warm. However, it was common to spend time with extended families in the mountains. That, and it felt better to be around the more moist air. "I don't suppose it'll flood, but you never know with rain."

“Without a doubt.” Nyx answers looking up at the sky,” Really wants to test how water proof my makeup actually is.” However she knew for sure that there was a storm much bigger than just a little rain on the horizon. “Interested to see what kind of winter we’re gonna get.” Nyx wasn’t much impressed with snow but she did have some bomb ass boots to wear for it.

She was a welcoming one, someone that Jett normally would be happy to be around. However, it was a little suspicious ever since he came to town. Or more likely, his past had changed how he saw people in the present. "Why not. Snow isn't really my thing. Gets everywhere like sand." At least, until it melted. Controlling the water it was made out of was difficult but not impossible. "Don't think I have any winter gear in my closet if it snows more than a few inches though. Haven't lived in a place like this to know for sure."
