BIOGRAPHY

Mike Gordon (sometimes mistakenly called Howie due to the name of his store), moved to Creation Peaks in his early twenties, quickly becoming familiar within the small town. With his gift shop located close to the entrance of the mountain range, many jokingly refer to him as the "protector of the peaks", often found deterring locals and tourists alike from venturing into the dangerous area. He is well liked in the community, never hesitating to lend a hand or to listen to someone in need. Because of this, most don't realize or care for the fact that Mike actually never talks about his past, never really opens up or gives more details than necessary when asked. Though seemingly an open book, no one truly knows him, and it's doubtful most within Creation Peaks would believe his story if he were to share it.
In the beginning, he was named Mikhael, the first archangel created by God. He spent his youth learning from his father alongside his four siblings, showing great affection for his fellow archangels. However, it was obvious Mikhael's bond with his brother Lucifer was the strongest, the two practically inseparable as they grew up. They trained and explored together, trusting one another fully and without hesitation, Mikhael's love for his younger brother coming only second to his love for God. After the loss of their brother Barachiel and the extermination of the Behemoth, Lucy was named heir to the heavens, while Mika was given leadership of their army, his strategic mind and valiant spirit far better suited for the battlefield rather than the throne room.
Mikhael led the angels to countless victories, always following orders without question. It wasn't until Lucifer spoke against God that Mikhael began to wonder, though such thoughts were only shared with his younger brother whenever they were alone. In front of their father, Mikhael's obedience never wavered, which he came to regret years later after Lucifer was sent to the dungeons due to his corruption of humans. Mikhael tried to plea with God to allow him to guide Lucifer, promising he would return his younger brother to the right path. But his father refused, Mika once again simply accepting God's commands rather than speaking his mind.
When Lucifer first revolted, it was Mikhael who stopped him. He insisted his brother and the others were only misguided, agreeing exile was the right punishment when God made the suggestion. Though it hurt him, Mika remained in Heaven while Lucy was sent to Earth, watching over his brother to prove to their father his heir wasn't lost yet. Mikhael considered Lucifer's love for Lilith and the village they inhabited evidence that his trust in Lucy was correct, but all the news did was anger God. Mikhael watched as his fellow angels attacked the village, killing supernaturals and humans alike, crying for the very first time since his creation.
The archangel prepared for his brother's inevitable retaliation, Mikhael leading the Legion of Heaven against the combined forces of the supernaturals and the Fallen. War raged through both Earth and Heaven, the fate of the world coming down to the battle between Mikhael and Lucifer. Ultimately, the older archangel stood over the younger one, his golden sword looming over his brother's heart. God ordered him to deliver the final blow, but Mikhael instead dropped his weapon and offered Lucifer his hand. Touched by his son’s act of brotherly love, God agreed to stop the war, Lucifer accepting to be imprisoned in exchange for the safety of Lilith and what they built.
While Heaven celebrated Mikhael as a hero, the archangel couldn’t share the sentiment. He grieved the loss of another brother, spending a millennia in the dungeons of Heaven as punishment for the part he played in Lucifer’s downfall. That eventually didn’t feel like enough, Mikhael then choosing to abandon his position as the General of Heaven’s army and exile himself. Seeing how in pain his son was, God reluctantly agreed to his wishes, stripping Mika of his title and powers as he requested (with the exception of his immunity and supernatural perception), sending him to Earth to live as a human.
Mikhael, now commonly known as Michael, spent the following centuries traveling the world. Sometimes he regretted his decision, other times he felt grateful for the weight lifted off his shoulders. Eventually he grew indifferent of his fate. Through the decades, he heard about the demons' efforts to break the 777 seals, settling in Creation Peaks one hundred years ago. Though part of him wants Lucifer to be freed, Michael knows his brother's freedom would mean another war. He doesn't want that, reluctantly deciding to be in town as a last line of defense against the Court of Hell.
