It's horrible for them to lose in general. But I still love Neymar-- and the entire team, of course, but especially Neymar-- he's such a cutie. If people bet on that game, I'm sure there was a lot of upsets.
They definitely deserved to win. I'm pretty sure Camz was mad about them losing, too... Actually, a lot of people probably were. Do people bet on The World Cup like they do on The Super Bowl?
Luke: do they? I still wanna play FIFA with Chris.
Luke: well hey we all knew the moms were the biggest fans ;~) lol kidding
Luke: as long as you enjoyed yourself, love. That's all I wanted. It was great to see you so happy.
Lauren: He'd totally play you if you asked

Notes: Dev told me to do this. There are also slight time jumps. For Lauren's birthday, Luke flies her family to Rio to see her. They go to dinner, and then the two of them go back to their room to celebrate in their own way. Lots of fluff, and a bit of smut (the best I could do, considering it's self para.)
She doesn't know how it happens, really. One minute, she's sitting in the lounge talking to Dinah and Camila, and the next, Luke's leading her down the hallway to their shared hotel room. His large hand is wrapped tightly around hers, their fingers laced together, and he gives her hand a gentle but reassuring squeeze; the warm, familiar smile that she fell in love with soon following after as he tugs her further down the hall. And God, she doesn't know how anyone could feel as strongly for another person as she feels for Luke.
"Okay," He turns to her, stopping just in front of their room and he's smiling that damn smile again, and then he gives her a light nudge in the direction of the thick wooden door and she swears she can hear the faint sound of voices coming from the other side.
"Open it." He directs, her feet carrying her forward and her hand pausing on the cool metal knob. She looks back at him, watching the way he toys with his lip ring-- something Lauren noticed he did quite often when he was nervous.
She smiles; he planned something, she knows he did, but she definitely wasn't prepared to open the door to reveal all four of her family members standing at the end of the bed. Though her eyes are now clouded and watery, burning with un-shed tears, she can clearly see the outline of her dad, mom, Chris, and Taylor as she steps further into the room. One of them-- she's not sure who, maybe Taylor-- pulls her into a group hug and she melts, literally melts, into the embrace in time for the tears to spill over her lids.
She talks with them for a while, catching them up on the things that'd happened in her life since she'd seen them last and the tour so far, Taylor talking about boys and her summer and how Luke followed her on Twitter (it makes her a lot happier than it should,) Chris rambling on about his newest fling and how much everyone back home misses her, and her parents animatedly telling her about how nice their trip to the Caribbean had been. Her chest swells with how happy everyone seems to be.
Not too long later, her dad brings Luke up.
"He seems like a really nice boy," He says, and Lauren just nods, choosing to ingore the knowing glance her mother is sending her way.
"He's really hot; I dig the lip ring." Taylor chimes in from her spot on the bed, not even bothering to look up from her phone. She knows Taylor's had a huge crush on him since... Well, since long before the two of them became involved, and that's the only thing that keeps her from rolling her eyes.
"Don't hit on Laur's boyfriend, idiot." Lauren laughs; leave it to Chris to come to her rescue.
"He's not my boyfriend," She quickly corrects, though she wishes she wouldn't have to.
He scoffs. "Yeah, right."
She argues with him about it until she hears Luke quietly knocking on the door. She really missed her family.
She's leaning against the cool mahogany headboard of the bed, sitting in between her mom and her sister, her bright green eyes glued to the boy sitting next to Papa J and Chris on the couch. He laughs at something her dad says and it's the full body laughter, the one where he squints his eyes and throws his head back, that makes Lauren smile every time she hears it and she knows-- she swears-- she has literal hearts in her eyes. She's more than happy that her family seems to be getting along so well with him, though she never doubted they would.
Dinner passes by quickly for her, holding hands with Luke under the table and exchanging loving glances with him every so often. Her mom asks intrusive questions and she can't help the way heat creeps up her neck and to her cheeks when Luke openly admits that he loves her to her family. It feels real then, like it solidified their entire relationship, and she's so, overwhelmingly happy.
They're back in their hotel room, just her and Luke, after saying goodnight to everyone and it's quiet between them for a while, her small frame curled up against him as she tells him about how wonderful her day was and how much she loves him. And she does; she's not sure she's capable of loving anyone more. The atmosphere of the room changes when she leans up to press their lips together, and then his hands are everywhere and she can't get close enough, and before she can even process, her shirt is being thrown somewhere across the room and he's laying her back on the soft mattress-- and fuck, he's not even doing anything yet and her body's on fire.
After several, sweat inducing, breath shuddering minutes, they’re both naked; lips moving fervently against each other, her hands tugging at his hair as she revels in the way their bodies are pressed together. His lips and tongue move down the column of her neck, teeth nipping at her collarbone and she bites back a moan, it catches in her throat and she instead pushes her chest further into his mouth and hands.
She looks down at him as he lifts his head, leaning up a bit to get a better look at his face and Lauren could nearly cry at the way he's looking at her. When he slides back up her body, hands coming to rest on either side of her head, she knows what's coming next and she feels the anticipation and excitement coursing throughout her. Their foreheads press together as he slips into her, her back bowing off the bed as his name tumbles from her lips. His head drops down to the crook of her neck, biting down onto her shoulder and she moans-- unabashedly this time.
She hears him panting and huffing, and her eyes close shut as another moan bubbles out of her throat. It’s hot, really hot, the way he's panting.
She takes in the way Luke's lips feel against the warm skin of her neck and how nice the sheets feel on her bare body and the way he feels inside of her and the warm air of the room and just how hot he looks moving above her. Her hands find their way down his taut back, and she drags her nails across the muscles lightly, loving the way it makes him shudder and breathe more heavily against her.
They’re both sweating slightly, her legs wrapped tightly around his waist and his fingers digging into her thighs; and it makes it hotter, more dirty. And Lauren thinks she likes it dirty.
Luke’s panting harder now, snippets of her name coming out between his lips, and it pushes her even closer to the edge.
"Fuck. Luke," She breathes, inwardly praying that the people in the hotel room next to them either, went to sleep, or were choosing to ignore the sound of the headboard hitting the wall.
When she comes, she comes with him, hard; panting out Luke's name, a string of curse words, and broken I love you's.
"I love you so much," He mumbles, head resting against her heaving chest as she runs nimble fingers through his hair.
"I love you, too."
She takes a deep breath and rolls over onto her side when he lifts himself off of her, only separating long enough to pull the comforter up over them, before he's throwing an arm over her waist and pulling herself tightly against him.
She giggles when he kisses her shoulder and whispers "Happy birthday, beautiful," into the skin.
Yeah, she thinks, her eighteenth birthday is definitely her favorite.
