Taylor shook her head, she wasn’t surprised when she heard what Luke had to say. Sometimes she was surprised she remembered to bring her phone, let alone her wallet. “Well I guess I can buy you a coffee,” she grinned a little bit. “You sure you don’t want anything else while I’m getting it Luke?”

Luke shook his head. “I’m kidding. You don’t have to buy me a coffee.” He propped his leg up and leaned back. “Did I miss anything fun at school?” he questioned.

Taylor sat down at one of the empty tables at the cafe with her sketch book in front of her and coffee beside her. She had a rough day at school and she was so glad it was finally Friday. She couldn’t wait to spend the next two days sleep in and not having to do anything school related. She was sipping on her coffee when some stepped behind her. “Can I help you?”

Luke wasn’t the type to skip school but he was just in one of those moods that he didn’t want to deal with today. He walked into the cafe where one of his good friends always comes to hang out. Lucas Daniel Parker was born to Daniel Parker and Ashley Williams in Miami, FL. Daniel left Luke and Ashley when Luke was five months old and left them to care for themselves.

Growing up, Luke lived with his mother in not the best neighborhood. While Ashley was taking care of Luke, she was also doing drugs. Things changed when Luke was eight. Ashley’s drugs were found in Luke’s book bag that fell out and a teacher saw.

CPS was called and got in contact with Daniel. The court granted full custody of Luke to Daniel and both of them moved to Juniper Isle, HI where Daniel was currently living with his mother, Sophia, Luke’s grandma.

Spending time with Daniel, Luke realized that he was like his mother, doing drugs and doing crimes. His secret is that he committed a crime with his father. Daniel ever told him that if he ever told anyone, he could come after him and kill him so Luke kept his mouth shut.

Growing up, Luke was able to keep his head up and clean despite his living situation and background. People say he’s like a Troy Bolton which means his love for sports and music. He plays many sports and activities to keep himself busy and out of trouble.

At age fifteen, Daniel left again and Luke was living with his grandma. At that point, Luke felt safe for the first time in a long time. He later found out that Daniel left because Sophia was sick and only had months to live. Four days before his sixteenth birthday, she passed away.

Since there was no other family for Luke, he was placed in foster care. He was in multiple homes until settling down for the Beatty family at the time being. Just recently, Ashley has shown up and has told Luke that he was going to get him back. Due to all the stress of moving and such, Luke has been thinking to turning to drugs and alcohol to make him feel better.
