I still have boxes that need to be unpacked and I’ve lived here for quite some time.
Okay, I feel a little better about living out of boxes for the last week and so.

Well now that I’ve gotten the store mostly unpacked maybe I can actually unpack a box at my apartment.

At the sound of Mae’s voice on the other side of the door, the blonde froze momentarily. Not wanting to open the door too quickly and make it seem like she had been waiting there, but rather like she had just walked over to it. When she opened the door, she quickly took in the other girl’s appearance and smiled. “Hey. I’m digging the outfit by the way.” she moved out of the way and opened the door wider to let her in, promptly shutting it behind her afterwards. She gestured to the living room “So, the movie choice is up to you and I have sodas on the counter as well as popcorn in the microwave, which I should go get now that I’m thinking about it. I’ll just be a moment, but you can make yourself at home. Mi casa es tu casa.” Then, she walked to the kitchen to pull out the popcorn and a bowl to put it in.
Mae smiled at the other as she opened the door. “Hey. Yeah? Thanks. it’s just something I threw on. Really it’s what’s been unpacked so far.” She responded, taking a step into Lucy’s apartment. “You look amazingly more put together than I ever could,anyways.” Mae looked around as the other spoke, telling her that what they watched was up to her, and nodded as she went to go get the popcorn. “Your place is pretty nice. Been here long?” Circling the room, she came to the shelves with the other’s movie collection on it and looked over it, trying to decide on a movie they wouldn’t have to pay all that much attention to, so they could still talk without missing half of it. “What’s our favorite movie genre?”Mae spun around towards where the other had gone to get the snacks.
@maeb.not: I think I've been in the shop too long, since I fell asleep in the stock room today.
Aw, dammit. Now I’ll still be poor while they’re making even more money off my ideas. Typical.
At least your messed up breakfast will go to underpaying baristas to spell my name wrong. Helping someone out.
Yeah, I’m not good at like, reading something and then being able to do it? I’m better at learning when someone teaches me. Otherwise I end up skipping steps and then all of my clothes will be ruined.
More of a hands on type. I’d offer to teach you but my explanation skills don’t go past ‘you do this then that then you’re done.’ You can just use tide pods, just throw one in and hit a button, all you have to do is separate colors and whites.
Thanks, I have my moments. Make sure to credit me if you ever decide to use this comeback yourself.
That’s like a comeback I’d come up with two days after the fact i the shower. I’ll be sure to give you full credit.
It was cocoa puffs and I managed to stop after just a little bit of coffee, so it was like…crunchy mocha? Not terrible, but I’ve never repeated the recipe.
Crunchy Mocha sounds like the next shitty Starbucks flavor, honestly. Maybe you were on to something after all.
So this fucking mammoth of a dude came into the parlor today and started picking on me for my height and I just looked up at him with this deadpan expression and went “I know, right? I’m at the perfect height to suck your dick.” Needless to say, he shut right the fuck up after that.
That’s probably the best response to that I’ve ever heard. Pretty awesome.
There’s nothing like living on your own for the first time to make you see that you know absolutely nothing about living on your own. I don’t know how to cook or do laundry or anything. What the hell am I going to do?
Let Google be your new best friend.
Movie & Company || Mae + Lucy
Lucy was beginning to chew at her nails as she was waiting until she heard the buzzer go off. The girl quickly rose to her feet, making her way over to the intercom/buzzer system to buzz Mae in. Then she unlocked her door and ran to the bathroom to look in the mirror and see if she looked semi-presentable. She decided to quickly touch up her makeup before heading back to the door, waiting to open it for the other girl. Honestly, she hadn’t even thought to ask why Mae was opposed to the alcohol but then again, she didn’t feel it mattered either. If she didn’t want to, she didn’t have to. She wasn’t gonna be one to pressure another into something they weren’t comfortable with. Especially if she was wanting to woo the girl at any point in the evening or at all even. With one last glance, she made sure she had tidied everything up just to make sure.
She smiled when she heard the other buzz her in, making her way into the apartment building. Heading over to the lobby, Mae took a look over the directory just to see where exactly Lucy’s apparent was gonna be before heading to it, glad it wasn’t going to be a giant climb to the apartment. She pulled out her phone just before coming to the door,brushing the hair out of her face and pocketing it again. Mae checked the apartment number at least three times,just to make sure that apartment five was right, before knocking and letting the other know she'd gotten there with a ‘Hey, it’s Mae.’ as if Lucy wasn’t expecting her.
Movie & Company || Mae + Lucy
Truth be told, Lucy wasn’t sure how to prepare for a proper guest. Sure, she had invited people over countless times on drunken or stoned encounters, sometimes both, but she didn’t typically have anyone over just to hangout since she was in the tween years of sleepovers and what not under her parent’s roof. She did keep her studio apartment as clean as she could being as she was the only one there most of the time, and she was still fairly new here in Fremont. The blonde rushed to pick up various items of clothing she had carelessly tossed on the floor in her daily outfit changes, before tossing them into an empty hamper in her bedroom.
Next, she moved to the kitchen and started putting away bottles of different types of alcohol into her liquor cabinet, seeing as Mae wasn’t down for drinking. Before she did that though, she took a quick couple of shots of Fireball so she wouldn’t have to worry about being nervous or anything. Feelings, even nervousness, didn’t sit well with her. Lucy grabbed a couple of sodas, set them on the counter, as well as a thing of popcorn and put it in the microwave to pop, After that, she moved to the living room and started weighing options of which movies they could watch, depending on what the other girl wanted. She finally just decided to step away from the movies and sit on the couch until Mae showed up, she would think about that when the other girl was actually here.
Mae hadn’t actually expected to be anything close to having company so quickly after moving to Seattle,but she definitely wasn’t going to complain about socializing with someone more than her dog. And not that Charlie was high bar to set, but Lucy was pretty great company. Most of her stuff hadn’t been unpacked, just sheets,dishes and the things for Charlie. And frankly the task was slowly becoming overwhelming as she had to start focusing attention on her shop. Too much to do. So she almost jumped on the opportunity, glad the other hadn’t really asked about her aversion to drinking. Mae took Charlie out one more time before she left, just jeans and a arctic monkeys t-shirt on. She didn’t know her way around Fremont much at all, just to her apartment and store. So she had google maps pulled up on her phone as she walked down to the other’s apartment. After double and triple checking the address Lucy had given her, she buzzed up, waiting for the other to answer.
