A/N: Whaaaaat? Another Kollok: Council of the Gods fic?! You bet your ass it is! 😂😂 Also I think I always write Night as softer than he really is but it's nice and I like it. ☺️
Enjoy! ❤️
-------------------------------------
You felt stupid standing before the round marble altar as you lit the long pale white candles in silence. The Church of Night was completely empty so at least no one could see your awkward attempt at remembering exactly how this was done. You hadn't set foot in this church for a very long time, never really believing in the old gods like your grandmother did.
She had brought you faithfully every weekend as a kid to pray to the God of Night for blessings, prosperity and to generally keep the God happy. As you got older though you drew back and eventually stopped going altogether, you just didn't believe anymore. It had felt like a complete waste of time. But now your grandmother was very sick in the hospital and you were running out of time and options fast.
So here you were back in the Church of Night after many years and feeling like a giant hypocrite about it. You close your eyes, bow your head slightly and clasp your hands tightly together, trying to ignore the feeling in the back of your mind that you were being watched.
"Oh great God of Night, mover of uh...mover of the stars and the...shit...the uh, the something of something". You let out an annoyed grunt. You'd said this at least a hundred times as a kid, how could you not remember this now?! You shake out your arms before clasping your hands together once more to try again.
"Oh great God of Night, mover of...you know what? I'm going to level with you here. I... I haven't prayed here in who knows how many years. Honestly, I'm not even sure there's anyone listening to this right now. I'm probably just talking to an empty room but..." You pause to let out a shaky breath before continuing. "But this isn't about me, I'm here for me gr-"
"-Grandmother, I know. I was starting to wonder where she was".
You freeze in place as the deep silky voice speaks from somewhere behind you, not even daring to breathe.
"My my my [Y/N], haven't you grown". The voice appears to circle around you to the other side of the altar but you didn't hear any footsteps. You didn't even hear anyone come in! How was this possible?! This had to be some sort of trick, a mean prank even.
You open your eyes slowly, worried about just what, or who, you were about to see. The man watches with a small smile of amusement as you gasp quietly. He was...he looked....he looked exactly as your grandmother has described!! Average height, wavey black hair, deep brown eyes and a red spiral marking on his surprisingly handsome face. Check, check and check! This couldn't be real, the gods weren't real, someone had to be fucking with you!
"W-who, fuck, who the hell are you?!" You demand, voice shaking slightly as you speak. The man still has that amused look on his face as he pretends to brush off the lapels of his jacket.
"Oh [Y/N], you know exactly who I am. I am the very God you prayed to tonight. Albeit terribly. Your grandma taught you better than that".
You feel as though you should apologise and avert your eyes but that was stupid. This guy couldn't really be a God, could he?
"Prove it". You say, standing up straighter and stealing your resolve to remain looking him right in the eye.
"Prove it?" He repeats, looking slightly annoyed as he does so. "You may regret that". The wannabe God ushers you over to the window, opening it up wide so that you have a clear view of the night sky. Then with a few hand movements on his part, the stars start moving seemingly of their own accord, swooping and twirling elegantly through the black sky. They spin around the moon itself making different complex patterns over and over again, faster and faster until you start to feel dizzy.
You stumble back slightly, feeling behind you until your hand closes round the solid wood of one of the long pews. The world feels as though it's spinning as you sit with your eyes closed, taking deep breaths to try and feel normal again.
"Now do you believe sweet heart?" The God of Night asks, finally breaking the oppressive silence.
"Yes". You whisper, mind reeling from the revelation that the Gods were very much real and you were in fact talking to one.
It was all too much for you to take in at once, your grandmother had been right after all! Your mind was reeling with hundreds of questions and the over whelming feeling to get as far away as humanly possible. Hah! Humanly possible. If you weren't feeling so shaken up right now you would laugh.
You pull yourself up into your feet, legs feeling like jelly as you hurry over to the door without even looking back at the God.
"I-I should get back", you mumble before stumbling out the door into the cold night air without a backwards glance.

The next morning you wake up later than usual to a missed call and a voice mail from the hospital. Your heart is in your throat as you listen to the voice mail expecting the worse but what you hear instead brings back all the memories from the night before at the church of Night.
Your grandmother had improved tremendously over night and the Doctors were more than hopeful she'd now fully recover. Also did you happen to know the young man with a red marking on his face that visited late last night? You try to keep your voice level as you answer that yes, you did in fact know exactly who that was. And yes, it was perfectly fine for him to visit.
Shit shit shit shit shit shit! You were going to have to go back to the church and thank him. It was only polite after all...

The Church of Night is just as silent and empty as it was the night before. You wonder briefly if that's because it's genuinely empty or because someone wants it to be. Either way you were thankful for the solitude, at least for the time being.
You light the same candles from the previous night having left them in a hurry before closing your eyes and clasping your hands once again.
"Oh great God of Night, mover of stars and bringer of knowledge. Please hear my prayer and...and..." You have to stop, voice wavering as you speak. The whole situation was overwhelming. You hadn't been in this church for years and now you'd been in twice. Not only finding out the god of Night was very much real and also knew exactly who you were but had also somehow miraculously healed your Grandma of the sickness that been ravaging her body. You laugh quietly under your breath at the absurdity of the situation, if anyone else had told you all this you'd think they were nuts. Yet here you were trying to wrap your brain around everything.
"What's so funny?" That silky smooth voice once again cuts through the silence sending a shiver down your spine. You glance over your shoulder to see the god of Night standing a little ways behind you.
"Nothing", you answer with a quiet sigh. "Just...the last few days has been a lot, you know?" You gently blow out the candles, watching the blue smoke dance in the air for a second or two before turning around to face him, leaning against the marble altar now behind you. "Thank you", you say with a soft smile. The words alone weren't anywhere near enough to express your gratitude but now with your mind slowly accepting that deities were clearly real, you almost felt shy in his presence. In quiet awe, you suppose. The fact that he was very handsome was also playing on your mind. Although you'd much rather keep that piece of information to yourself, a part of you wondering if it's blasphemous to think such things.
Night walks forward with quiet confidence, a smile playing on his lips as he mirrors your stance of leaning against the altar.
"You're very welcome little star".
"Little star?!" Your voice raises in pitch, your eyebrow along with it. There is almost a look of panic that crosses the God's face before it falls back into the confident smile, only a slight blush on his cheeks remains.
"Your grandma called you that once". He clears his throat before continuing with a mumble. "I guess the name stuck with me..."
"Did...did she talk about me a lot?" You ask, sheepishly looking down at your feet.
"Are you kidding me? I've heard about every one of your life events! Your grandma doesn't just pray and make offerings. She talks. She treats me like oldest friend and confidante. It's part of the reason why I lo-"
There's a pause as you both face each other: Night not wanting to continue the sentence and you wanting him to continue. His deep brown eyes are soft and warm as they look into yours, almost like they were looking for something. You have questions, but you can't bring yourself to break this moment. His eyes dart down as you briefly lick your lips, mouth dry with apprehension. The atmosphere felt heavy, like something was about to happen but you weren't sure what.
Night leans in slightly and you can't help but follow suit, his eyes never leaving yours, drawing you in like a moth to a flame.
"Little star..." He whispers just as your lips almost meet. The loud sound of the church door opening makes you spring back, head whipping round to see an older gentleman entering and taking a seat on one of the end pews. You turn back to mumble an excuse to the god about having to leave but he had already gone. Of course he had! You'd seen before he had the ability to come and go at will. You can't help but roll your eyes to yourself.
"I'll see you later". You whisper as quietly as you can, you might not be able to see him but you have the feeling he can still hear you.
Looks like you're going to be attending the church of Night rather faithfully from now on.
AHHH THIS WAS SO FUN. I always forget how much I like writing lime and I get so nervous to do it because I'm scared of like, doing too much. Anyways, you wake up to the aftermath of a New Year's Eve party, during which some unexpected things happened. (For those of you who don't remember, lime is not smut, but it implies sex and has some sexual content still, so you have been warned.)
You woke up to an early morning light coming through a large window, white and almost blinding. It was more comfortable than most mornings. The mattress was practically hugging you, holding you close, begging you not to get up out of bed. You gave in for a while, occasionally looking out the window at the birds and squirrels, trying to get a hold of your thoughts. Last night was exhausting, and your bones felt it, but you couldn’t quite remember why. You shuffled around, tossing and turning in the sheets until you eventually rolled over, your eyes meeting part of the reason you were so tired this morning.
“Fuck.”
The word came out softly as you went to rub your eyes, almost unsure of the sight. No wonder the mattress was so comfortable, it was Mark’s, not yours. You almost banged your head into your hands, but decided any extra movement might wake him, and you wanted to remember everything before you had to talk to him. The night was coming back slowly. Mark threw a small New Year’s Eve party, just a couple friends of his, including you. While most left a little early to go see partners or family, you had nowhere else to go for the night, so you stayed. Midnight turned into 3 am, and eventually sleep deprivation and isolation led to some very unlikely fun in bed.
You never really thought about Mark that way until last night, but damn did it make sense. You were lucky everyone left for the evening, or else the noise would’ve been a little awkward to explain in the morning. Now that it was over, many questions now plagued your mind. Is this a one-time thing? Does this ruin your friendship? What about videos? Are you fuck-buddies now? Maybe it’s more than that? All of these swirling questions were interrupted when Mark stirred on the other side of the bed. He also seemed not fully there, as it was quite early and things lasted a little too long last night. You checked your phone that was previously sitting on the nightstand. It read 7:42 am. Did you both really only sleep for a couple hours?
“Hey.”
His rasp hit your ears suddenly but sweetly, the same rasp that was in your ear all night long.
“Hey.”
The two of you weren’t really sure what else to say. At this point you were sitting at the edge of the bed, trying to find it in your tired body to get up and at least stretch your legs. When you finally got up, you made your way to the window to close the curtains.
“Thanks for the view.”
“I just got rid of the view.”
“Mmmm, not from where I’m sitting.”
You laughed, finally turning to look him in the eyes. For a few moments, the both of you just stare, almost studying each other, your bodies, your eyes.
“You know, I wasn’t planning on-”
He interrupts you.
“I wasn’t either.”
Silence, again. Instead of continuing to stare at his sheet-covered form, you move to the bathroom, washing your face and fixing your hair. You watch as he approaches in the mirror, and a pit forms in your stomach. You turn to look at him.
“Listen, Mark, I had a really great time-”
“I know.”
He smiles, and a light red consumes your face.
“What I’m trying to say is… what is this? I don’t want us confused about what page we’re on, and I definitely don’t want to lose you as a friend.”
“Woah, who said we had to rush into labeling anything?”
“No one, I just don’t want things with you to go sideways.”
“I think you’re overthinking it y/n, but I get it, we should talk about things.”
You move to sit on the counter.
“So, we can go through our thought processes about last night, see where we both stand, and go from there.”
Mark sighs.
“Alright, I guess if you want to be a robot about it.”
He laughs and you glare at him.
“Very funny. Anyways, I honestly don’t even know what came over me last night. Like, I’ve never looked at you in that way.”
“But…”
“But, it was REALLY fun, like honestly I didn’t know you could even do that?”
“What can I say, I’m a man of many talents.”
“And I mean aside from the sex, I don’t know, you’re a fun guy. We’ve always gotten along, we work really well together, and I hadn’t realized it until now but you’re, very good-looking.”
“Well I always thought I was good-looking, so I’m happy you noticed.”
You tried to kick him from the counter, but he was too far.
“Okay, can we get serious now?”
“Okay, okay, fine. Sorry.”
You couldn’t help but smirk at him.
“In all honesty y/n? I’ve always liked you. And I was really happy last night when you stayed for the countdown, and even happier later.”
You rolled your eyes.
“Yeah okay I get it, sex good, I hear ya.”
You both start laughing again, and he steps toward the counter.
“So, what I’m hearing is, we both had a lot of fun, and we’re both interested in each other.”
As he steps toward you, his fingers begin to trail your thigh.
“Mhm.”
His hand makes its way up to your hip.
“So, I guess we don’t have to do a repeat of last night to figure out what we want. Unless…”
Your voice gets caught in your throat for a moment.
