Keep it vague. I know the urge is there to describe everything in minute detail, exactly as you imagine it, but the truth is every one of your readers is going to visualize your story differently and that’s okay. Sometimes, you’ve got to trust your readers just as much as they’re trusting you. It’s a two way thing, my love <3

some of my straight friends having realisations I already grappled with in the closet at age 12 so I just nod along and applaud like one of those sea lions doing tricks for sardines

The worst thing you can do in writing is listen to the Said Naysayers. Said is perfect. Said is the only acceptable option, except for Asked of course. I love Said. He said. She said. They said. We said. It’s up to my reader to interpret how it is being said, that is how much I trust them *kiss on the forehead*
