Family Terminology in Naruto

Buckle in for another Naruto project no one asked me to do, but I did anyway! The meanings in the brackets are based on how they are translated in the subtitles of the anime. There are other contexts in which these words might be used to denote slightly different meanings, but I will rely solely on the words in the English subtitles. In addition, I will differentiate the root words by each of their prefixes and suffixes, such as o-, or -ue, or -san, etc. 

I use “in reference to” if the word is not used directly e.g. “like a little brother” or “his/your/my father”, “about” if the word is used by the speaker themselves to identify someone else as their family by title, e.g. “Mother loved me” and “to” if the word is used directly, e.g. Naruto calling Minato, “Dad.”
