According to many commentaries on the Bible, Cain was the son of Eve and the serpent at Eden. Did you know this/intend this when you wrote Good Omens? (Because Crowley was the serpent)

I have read many commentaries, but none that suggested Cain was the serpent. (Partly because all the serpent stuff happens before Cain is born, and because it would kind of make a nonsense out of the Cain and Abel story if one of them was actually the Serpent and God hadn't noticed.) Do you have any links to any books that propose this as a theory?

I must have been very tired... I read this as Cain was the son of Eve AND (was also) the Serpent in Eden. Obviously you meant, Cain was fathered by the Serpent and by Adam.
