Happy (somewhat belated) 20th anniversary to my favourite movie of all time, Treasure Planet! I really can’t overstate how instrumental this movie was in my creative and artistic development, and how dear it is to me. Here’s an older, more renowned spacer Jim to celebrate 💙

✨IMAGINE✨ Jim’s gone and grown up, attending space academy where he does really well, except he doesn’t really gel well with all the snobby elitist students whos space lawyer dads got them in. this resentment grows when everyone graduates and joins the space force, where Jim witnesses his former classmates commit heinous acts against the people he used to sail with.

He tries to report it to the higher ups but instead of cracking down on the corruption, Jim has an “accident” that takes his left arm, ear and eye and he’s dismissed from the force. Now he’s being branded a rat and a criminal so he’s like, aight cool this is more my speed anyway and becomes a space pirate like his dad 🥺 So the plot revolves around Jim (and possible deuteragonist?) working together to take down the whole damn corrupt system

What she means: why is Treasure Planet so underrated. Does nobody appreciate the concept of pirates in space. All the steampunk is beautiful and the animation is amazing and the storyline is wonderful and it has a relatable loveable rogue character and doesn't rely on romance to be a good movie why isn't anyone talking about this movie.
