2day is the 40th anniversary of the day 

Dennis & I wrote "I Only Play 4 Money". 

We were rehearsing 4 our show 

in the morning of 10/19/1985 

when we came up with 

& wrote together 

the catchy chorus of the song. 

We would debut the song 

later that night 

at Sal's Bar 

in St. Cloud, Minnesota. 

4 those of u who have seen 

The "Meet The Frogs " segment

 in The Smashing Pumpkins "Vieuphoria" 

long-form music video, 

Billy Corgan used the 1st chorus in that segment. 

In honor of the 40th anniversary 

I hereby give u 

the world premiere of the entire song 

from that show at Shank Hall 

in Milwaukee, Wisconsin 03/31/1994.

Better Than God - The Frogs (04/03/1999 Euclid Tavern, Cleveland)

The recording of “Better Than God” our LP “Hopscotch Lollipop Sunday  took place at Chuck Myers home studio in Sandy, Utah. Chuck was a friend of Bjorn Thorsrud. We flew out 2 Sandy, Utah & met Chuck but this 1 time. We were due to leave 4 our flight back home Milwaukee at the end our stay & we wanted 2 squeeze this song in on tape before our departure.  As a nod 2 the “In Eden I fall” lyric, the producer in Dennis wanted a snake slithering in grass effect appearing at specific times throughout this piece, thus awakening consciousness as it climbs the vine of the spine.
