Random advice for wonder trading: if you have access to Kiloude City and you get a Friend Safari/hatched Pokemon traded to you with unmarked IVs, mark them yourself! Not only will it make life a little easier for whoever ends up with it next (if anyone), but it’ll also give you a chance to see if you’ve gotten something worth keeping!

(I’ve gotten no less than 3 unmarked 5IV ‘mons and probably a dozen or so with 4IVs, so it’s definitely worth checking at least…)

You know what makes filling your Pokedex easy? Having a brother whose friend safari has Chansey in it, because I just go in his safari catch Chansey and put them on the GTS for the Pokemon I need and it works every time.

Okay guys. Time for a huge giveaway.

What I have here is a good sized roster of competitive shiny pokemon! I tried including a variety of different roles for this and threw in some ‘mons I enjoy using in battles.

Even if you’re not in to battling and are more of a collector, I think these are some cool looking shinies regardless (Mega Absol <3)! This could also be a small motivational push to try battling ;D

5IV Timid Drought Vulpix for 5IV Ditto?

Seriously, I've been trying to IV breed the same pokemon for weeks now, and I still can't do it. The only pokemon I've succeeded  with is Vulpix, so that's all I have to offer :(

I just want to be able to breed 5IV pokemon to wonder trade to people :(

So yeah, if anyone would trade a 5IV Ditto for one of my 5IV Drought Timid Vulpix, you would be amazing!! :')

I’ve seen people say they are using Static or Magnet Pull when shiny huntig or something, but never say why.

So, could someone please explain what abilities are usful for shiny hunting, and why/how they work? As I get the impression some are only for the Poke Radar?

Abilities: How they affect random encounter and shiny hunting

After asking this earlier, I though I would share the answer I got for anyone else who was unsure. This detailed responce comes from Pokefan211 and is copy and pasted from what they sent to me. Click the break to see!

"There are three abilities people talk about alot. If you have a pokemon with illuminate at the front of your party, you are going to start encountering wild pokemon much faster. This doesn't guarantee a shiny nor lower the odds, but since you are encountering more pokemon in a shorter amount of time, its said you will find a shiny faster. Then there is magnet pull. If you have a pokemon with magnet pull up front you will encounter steel type pokemon more often, so it is a good way to hunt for a shiny honedge for instance, because you will encounter more honedge than normally. Then there is static which works similarly to magnet pull, except it attracts electric types. If people are shiny hunting a specific pokemon and it happens to be steel or electric they will use these two abilities to encourage those pokemon to appear, and hopefully increase the chances of the found shiny being what they wanted. There are additional abilities like cute charm (which attracts the opposite gender more oftern), and synchronize (which helps to increase the likelihood of a specific nature) that don't increase specific counter rates, but help inspire the traits you are looking for on a shiny." That's a great guide, thank you, but it doesn't talk about how abilities are used/how they effect shiny hunting.
