mind and heart were not in an agreement this time around, and one spoke before the other. “i mean, if by any chance you meet someone who you think i would match well with, then you can do so. it seems like kind of a long shot around here, but… it’s still worth a shot.” he shrugged. jongdae didn’t want to mention that he didn’t exactly know what he was looking for when it came to girls either, but he figured with jisoo’s help, he might have a better idea of these preferences.
she sees it in the way his expression undergoes a gradual change, sees that he is accepting her words and agreeing to them and jisoo silently prides herself on that. for whatever reason, she enjoys being able to have influence on jongdae, in one way or another, and that is clearly shown in the way of a subtle half-smirk sitting upon her lips.
“see, i’m not trying to fool you here!” she laughs, shaking the cup of coffee held between her fingers a little. “i’ll definitely find you someone suitable. and even if the candidates fail… after every failed date, i’ll treat you to something. how does that sound?” she’s definitely digging her own grave right there, right in that moment, but jisoo doesn’t even realize that due to the overwhelming confidence she is feeling about the whole thing. but considering her history of all these successful matchmaking sessions of hers, that really shouldn’t come as much of a surprise; everyone is confident about things they have never once failed in, aren’t they?
jisoo hurls the rest of her coffee down her throat and then flashes jongdae a big smile. “thank you for the coffee, oppa,” she salutes, gesturing for the waitress signaling the wish to pay. “to my biggest sadness, i have this awful afternoon class i have to attend so i’m afraid i’ll have to bail on you.” she winks at him, her grin just getting bigger. “the next time we meet, i’ll introduce you to a gorgeous woman who will most certainly win your heart!”
