“A peach pie...? Tytree... I think I’ll left more often if a peach pie is a present for being back.”
Veigue didn’t want to show it but he was glad about his best friend’s present. Of course, he wouldn’t leave once again. Or maybe not.

“No, I’m eating the peach pie that was on the table.”

To be honest, it was quite amusing to see the unknown man with peach pie on the face. Of course, Veigue was sad because he spoiled a delicious peach pie but the man’s face was so… funny.
And he started to laugh.
The swordsman wasn’t used to laugh as he tried to stay calm, neutral, but there…!
“I don’t regret it at all.” He said, drawing his big sword.
He didn’t want to fight but this man was so angry that he could, at least, defend himself.
As Zelos tried to punish the other man, the latter started… Laughing. That was worst than anything. The red-haired man took what was left of the peach pie, and launched it against the blue-haired man’s face.
“We’ll see if you laugh as much in the same situation!”
When Veigue reveiced the peach pie straight in the face, he stopped laughing, trying not to choke with the bit of it entering in his mouth. Well, this pie was really delicious. It was a waste.
“I guess old men don’t have humor. That’s sad.”
He knew he shouldn’t tempt fate, but it was stronger than him.

He was about to ask Veigue whether he was serious, but that would be kind of hypocritical, wouldn’t it? After Veigue had given him crap, thinking this was some kind of prank. There were things to prank people with and things not to, and this was one of those things that weren’t funny.
“B-but, I thought, I thought… Didn’t you and Claire… You mean it?”
Tytree could barely believe it. He was stunned. Veigue really liked him back?
“Haha, well, I shouldn’t have gotten so mad I guess… You were suspicious and all…”
Well, this was a bit awkward. Now what? Where did they go from here? He didn’t really have much of a plan after step one…
“Yes, I do.”
He could feel his cheeks growing hotter. “Yes I do”. How many time did he play to the wedding with Claire? He looked like he was going to marry Tytree now. The worker seemed astonished and Veigue couldn’t blame him. He knew more than anyone that he wasn’t the kind of people to show his feelings and was himself surprised by his own confession. He never thought he would told it.
“Claire and I...? Why do you think Claire and I are...? She’s just one of my best friend. There’s nothing more between us.”
Even if he had loved her when they were children, now it was different. Claire was his best friend, his sister, and there wouldn’t be any other thing between them.
“No, you were right. I shouldn’t asked something like that.”
And now, there was a little problem. What would they do next? It was the first time and, to be honest, he didn’t know how it worked;
“Hm... Do you want to eat peach pie with me?”

He wouldn’t lead someone on! Especially not someone like Veigue! Jeez, what kind of person did Veigue think he was? The factory worker grit his teeth, looking away. He was more upset than mad, but he still felt an urge to slug his friend for saying something as mean as that, especially at a time like this. It was totally uncalled for!
“Seriously, Veigue? I mean it, okay! Do you want me to say it again or somethin’? I. Like. You! Except when you’re bein’ an asshole like right now!”
And even then, though he might not like how Veigue was thinking and acting, they were still buds. That was probably part of the reason he got so pissed in the first place, really…
“I’m sorry, Tytree. I didn’t mean to angry you.”
It could have been a prank orchastrated by Mao and Tytree, but seeing how the factory worker reacted, it probably wasn’t the case. And now, even if he didn’t show it, Veigue felt bad for saying such a thing.
“I’m really sorry. I wanted to be sure. I mean... I like you too...” He finally stated, blushing a little bit.
It wasn’t everyday he could afford confessing this kind of things but after what all Tytree had done until now, he could at least answer his feelings.
“Are you eating my food?” (Zelos, to Veigue)
“No, I’m eating the peach pie that was on the table.”

Apparently, the attack had been a little bit too violent for the other man. Oops. Well, it would teach him to be correct with his elders.
“Killed you? If I had wanted to kill you I’d have hit harder.”
Zelos didn’t have the time to react, even if he understood what was going on the second the unknown kid took the peach pie in his hand. He tried to intercept it with his sword, but managed to mess up and only agitate his blade in the air, the peach pie on his face.
“YOU’RE GONNA REGRET THIS!”

✾~ “I… Look, I-” Wasn’t the reason obvious? “I like you. Like, a lot. I mean, you’re my best friend, but it’s sorta more than that.”
Even he was aware he was sounding stupid right now. So stupid. No way Veigue felt the same way. He would have picked up on something like that, wouldn’t he? Sure, Veigue kept what he was feeling to himself most of the time, but there’d be some kind of sign, right? Right? Right now his friend just looked confused. Besides, Veigue and Claire… He wasn’t sure what exactly was going on there, if anything, but he wasn’t trying to break anyone up or ruin any relationships, he really wasn’t!
Ugh! It was so hard not being sure!
“Look, just… It doesn’t matter, ‘kay? You’re way more important to me as a bro than anything else, so…” He couldn’t lose Veigue as a friend, especially not over something as dumb as this.
“Oh... I see.”
Veigue felt his cheek becoming hot because of Tytree’s confession. Of course, it was one of the things he had expected when he had asked the question, yet he thought it could have been for another reason.
And now his best friend looked ashamed by what he had said. Why? He had never told him he wasn’t okay with that. Well... Okay, he had said nothing, so maybe it was worse.
“No, wait.” He stopped his friend. “I never said that I was against it... I mean, about us. Or maybe you weren’t serious?”
He hoped it wasn’t just a joke or a bet Tytree had donne with Hilda because he would get angry and, for sure, his friend wouldn’t like it.

The factory worker’s face was completely red, and he took a few steps back, seemingly shocked with what he’d just done as well.
Now, when he needed them most, words were failing him.
“I… I- Veigue… I didn’t mean to-”
But was that really true? He didn’t know he was going to get shoved in here, and he didn’t know Veigue had been blindfolded, but if he’d really wanted to get out of this situation he probably could have before kissing his best friend. Damn, this wasn’t right, this wasn’t how this should have gone at all…
“… I’m sorry!”
For sure his friend looked embarrassed. And so Veigue does. He didn’t know how to react. Surprising. He didn’t know if he was angry or not. Finally he decided to talk.
“... Don’t worry.”
He wasn’t angry. He was... Surprised? It was the word. Surprised. He hadn’t know his friend could do something like this yet... Yet it didn’t bother him at all.
“But why did you... kiss me?” He asked slowly.
Veigue wanted to understand. He had nothing against people loving people from the same sex. After all, he couldn’t say a thing about that; besides they did what they wanted. But it was surprising that Tytree, his best friend, kissed him.
The swordsman wanted to understand.

Yeah, that didn’t sound good at all. Not as bad as getting your fingers stuck in a door, that was the worst, but getting your head pulled back unexpectedly because you forgot about your long hair really would suck.
Come to think of it… Yeah, Veigue did wake up before everyone, didn’t he. The factory worker was used to getting up pretty early, because usually he had to make it to work pretty early, but Veigue still got up before him.
“You do your braid by yourself? That sounds hard…” Sometimes he had trouble reaching around and making sure his headdress was on properly. He just figured Veigue and Eugene helped each other with their braids every day.
“It had been hard at the beginning but as I got used to it, doing the braid is easy now.”
He remembered the struggle he had the first time he had to do a braid. And Claire and her parents had laughed so much when they saw the result. The braid hadn’t looked like a braid at all. He had successed to mess it up. He made it laugh.
“If one day you want to do a braid, I can help you.”
He was an expert now.
“Are you eating my food?” (Zelos, to Veigue)
“No, I’m eating the peach pie that was on the table.”

“WHO ARE YOU CALLING AN OLD MAN, YOU BRAT?!”
The red-haired man used a Demon Fang on the youngster’s face. If there was an insult not to use against him, it was that one.
“IT’LL TEACH YOU TO TREAT PEOPLE WITH A LITTLE MORE RESPECT!”
Even though he tried to avoid the attack, it hit him violently. Putting a hand on his wounded face.
“Are you crazy? You could have killed me.” He calmly stated.
It was probably this man’s goal. He came near the table, took the peach pie. Then, he came near the unknown man and said:
“You want your peach pie?” He asked.
And he threw the peach pie on the man’s face.
“Here it is!”

“What the...!?”
What was happening!? Veigue didn’t know. He had to stay calm. Maybe it wasn’t an enemy after all. He would probably have felt it, right? Yet, he wasn’t sure. He was deep in thought when this thing happened. And now he was blindfolded. The young man was angry against himself. He put his hand on his sword’s knob, ready to use it.
“I don’t know who you are but if you don--”
He didn’t have time to finish his sentence as something wet touched his lips. His mind went black for minutes before he understood it was lips. Lips against his lips. What was happening? More than that, it was his first kiss and it was with a stranger!
So, when the stranger broke the kiss, Veigue pulled off the blindfold and his eyes opened wide.
“Tytree!?”
✾~ “It doesn’t bother me! It looks good!”
But the walking on part, he could get. “I can’t wear my hair any longer than this, I’d get sticks and dirt in it, and it would really suck if it got stuck in something in the factory… Guess that’s why you keep it in your braid, huh… Hey, is it get heavy? Does it take a while to wash?”
He’d never really thought about how long his friend’s hair really was before now. He wasn’t sure why, but maybe it had to do with it being in that braid. Unless it was in his face, he almost forgot the braid was even there sometimes.
Veigue felt his cheeks becoming hot when Tytree said it looked good. Nobody except Claire complimented him for his hair.
“I can understand your problem. When I leave a room while closing a door, my hair stuck between. So I have to keep them in braid.”
Tytree looked really interested by his hair and the problems it could cause.
“Heavy? Not really, but in a braid, it could hurt you. As for the washing, yes, it is really long to wash them then to brush them and to do a braid. That’s why I wake up before everyone.”
“Are you eating my food?” (Zelos, to Veigue)
“No, I’m eating the peach pie that was on the table.”
“I’ll fight for the Peach Pie and my maid’s hard work with all the strength I have. And believe me, Kiddo. You’ll regret stealing my pie.”
“Kiddo...?”
He called him “kiddo”? Like he was an old man?
“I’m sorry old man. You look so young. Here, take my place and eat the peach pie. I have to search for Claire anyway.”
For sure old men looked young these last days.
“Are you eating my food?” (Zelos, to Veigue)
“No, I’m eating the peach pie that was on the table.”
“ALL RIGHT!”
He drew his sword, ready to fight with the stranger. Nobody dared eating his food without regretting it.
Veigue drew his own sword. Nobody dared misspell Claire’s name without tasting of his sword. NOBODY!
“I’ll fight for Claire and the God of Peach Pie with all my strength! I’ll show you!”
“Are you eating my food?” (Zelos, to Veigue)
“No, I’m eating the peach pie that was on the table.”
“WELL I DON’T CLAIRE! THIS IS MY PEACH PIE, THAT’S ALL THAT COUNTS!”
“WHAT DID YOU SAY!? YOU WILL CLAIRE SOON! SHOW ME YOUR SWORD!”
“Are you eating my food?” (Zelos, to Veigue)
“No, I’m eating the peach pie that was on the table.”
“My maid! Not your Cleah or whoever it is! This peach pie is MINE!”
Veigue put the peach pie on the table, stood up and came near the red haired man. He didn’t care of the peach pie. This man had told something wrong.
“It’s Claire! CLAIRE! C.L.A.I.R.E! Not Cleah!”
