Я писала большой пост о том, как люблю плаксу, но решила вместо этого просто показать. Если бы не эта экранизация, вряд-ли бы я заинтересовалась франшизой в целом и имела этот гиперфикс на протяжении стольких лет.

I was writing a long post about how much I love crybaby, but decided to just show it instead. If it weren't for this adaptation, I likely wouldn't have become interested in the franchise as a whole or developed this hyperfixation that has lasted for so many years.

1. Новая роль Мики как голос режиссёра. Обожаю творчество Масааки Юасы и его любовь к жизни. Сцена с расставанием кардинально изменилась. Теперь это не прощание, а напутствие с надеждой на новую встречу. Теперь это не изгнание, а признание.

1. Mika’s new role as the voice of the director. I adore Masaaki Yuasa’s work and his love for life. The parting scene has changed radically. It is no longer a farewell, but a send-off filled with the hope of meeting again. It is no longer an expulsion, but an acknowledgment.

2. Музыка Кенсуке Усио. Я не музыкальный эксперт, поэтому как простой обыватель скажу, что это потрясающее сочетание звучаний. Наедине отдельные саундтреки всё ещё могут довести меня до слёз.

2. Music by Kensuke Ushio. I’m no music expert, so speaking as an ordinary listener, I’d say it’s a stunning blend of sounds. Even on their own, certain tracks can still move me to tears.

3. Бег. К сожалению, больше изображений вставить не могу из-за ограничения тамблера. Но вы ведь помните то, о чём думала Мики перед смертью? Как Рё не принял эстафету?

ГОСПОДИ БОЖЕ БЛЯТЬ?!?!!!!! Вся девятая серия. У меня была истерика при первом просмотре, я плачу при любом другом. Возможно, это травма.

OH GOD, FUCK?!?!!!!! The entire ninth episode. I was hysterical the first time I watched it, and I cry every other time. It might be trauma.

История остаётся с тем же концом. Но помимо обличительных обвинений в сторону человечества мы видим рассуждения о том, действительно ли нет нам согрешившим спасения? А действительно ли мы, люди, ничем не отличаемся от демонов, как это есть в оригинале? По мнению Юасы отличие всё же есть. И забывая о нём мы уподобляемся безжалостной нечисти. Любовь? Нет, не стоит её рассматривать только как истинно светлое чувство.

The story ends the same way. But beyond the accusatory accusations against humanity, we see discussions about whether there really is no salvation for us who have sinned. And are we humans really no different from demons, as is implied in the original? According to Yuasa, there is a difference. And by forgetting it, we become like merciless evil spirits. Love? No, it shouldn't be viewed solely as a truly bright feeling.

Плакса. А именно способность сочувствовать и сострадать. И с этим я согласна.

Crybaby. Namely, the ability to empathize and sympathize. And I agree with that.
