I'm gonna go eat shredded cheese straight out of the bag on the computer now.
Thinking that maybe I'll watch the Panthers in the next season because goddamn Barkov but then remembering that one of the Tkachuks is also on that team 😒 dudes be ruining things.
Also I'm absolutely tickled by how I used to think people who watch sports are some of the most annoying people ever and here we are. You live long enough to become the very thing you were bothered by 🥴 I'm already so bored knowing that there's no PWHL for a while and IIHF championships for women are later in the year and men's not again until next year. There are leagues in other countries...
Okay bye. Sorry for sportsposting. I don't have a life anymore. The world is so shitty that I go all in on everything I'm into these days.
I haven't watched any of the Calder or Stanley Cup playoffs but have been following the bracket for both. My team(s) fell out of contention in the Calder Cup playoffs a long time ago and I don't have an NHL team BUT I am finding myself rooting for the Habs because Montreal Victoire was this year's Walter Cup winner and it'd be cool if Montreal got blessed with two Cup winning teams this year. I'm team anyone but Golden Knights though and there are a lot of people in that camp. (So yay Hurricanes probably?)
Went to see the Mandalorian & Grogu. It was a wonderful movie. That Ludwig Göransson score was 😗🤌 and the set design was gorgeous. And it just had that kinda janky good old Star Wars feel to it as they'd used stop motion and practical effects for some parts. It was a good time.
I went to a picnic last night with some people from work (but not like my personal friend group from work) and had low expectations. I've had severe anxiety lately, especially social and especially around coworkers because I never really know if I'm supposed to talk to them or not (yeah, it sounds like a really dumb problem but anxiety isn't rational as we know) and I'm constantly convinced nobody likes me. My negative self talk is what I think other people think of me and then I believe it even though there is no concrete evidence to show that anyone other than myself thinks this way about me. Anyways, it turned out to be so much fun. I was the only person who brought a game along and most people were down to play so we ended up doing that. It was a really fun, low pressure way to get to know everyone and everyone had a good laugh. I can't remember the last time I genuinely laughed out loud like that. A few inside jokes were born. Also the park had a spectacular view and some of my coworkers are amazing in the kitchen! I love learning things about people. This was honestly so good for my social anxiety. And I got to meet some of their dogs!
Neighbor is back with his psychotic cackling. He was gone for a while after his last breakdown and then returned and was very quiet. Yesterday I heard his cackling (that I mistook for crying) and saw PERT (the mental health people from the popo) by our complex. So I'm thinking someone called PERT on the guy and now he's out here loosing it again. Please just take your meds dude 😩 at least the cackling is tolerable. His outbursts are not. He lives on some other planet during those and is so angry but I get the sense that maybe he's also scared. That's gotta be so exhausting on your brain.
I was not expecting to cry at the Boys series finale but I sure did. Personally I thought that to be very satisfying.
Walter Cup is done with, congrats to Montreal. I've found hockey to be very comforting. I remember last month feeling very anxious and wishing I could watch hockey cause it would make me feel better. Honestly I think it's because you have to pay attention and my brain goes into quiet mode. It could probably be any sport. IIHF men's world tournament is going on right now but the games are all at 7.20 am when I'm at work and I can't stream the ones I want to watch so that's been a little frustrating. There's of course also the Calder Cup and Stanley Cup playoffs and I'm considering tuning in to fill the void 🥴 to circle back to the IIHF, I'm pledging to myself now to call out if Finland plays for gold this year.
The mental health popos were by my house earlier today. I wonder if my neighbor lost it again. I did hear someone ugly crying so yeah, maybe?
This has been a post of everything.
Someone's watching an old movie or something like that on the bus. You know, with like adventurous horn music as the score and a narrator who sounds semi Mid-Atlantic. This is one of the better things you could be blasting loudly on the bus and I don't hate it.
One of the goalies for Calgary Flames is a bunny dad 😭 (and also a gifted piano player apparently. The bunny thing is cooler though.)
So much hockey, so little time (and resources to watch everything because apparently even in Finland watching the IIHF is difficult now. According to my dad.)
It’s very similar in Sweden. I forgot not everyone has ”Christ-heaven-trip-day” (literally how you translate it in Swedish) as like a national holiday where many people are off work.
Also confirmation. I feel like every country do confirmation extremely differently but just like in Norway, it’s more like a ”coming of age” ritual here in Sweden. Not everyone does confirmations, I was the only one in my friendgroup that did, but yeah I went to camp for 3 weeks and everything. And I feel like if an American would see what we did at that camp they’d not even call it ”Christian” cause no one there was very religious in the way they talked and acted.
And yeah many people get baptized as infants because ”that’s just what you do”. Honestly people who aren’t baptized stick out lmao
important lifestyle update: my new celebbo crush is George Fouracres.
height check. how tall are you people in my phone
Pleased to find out that Nathan Foad is the writer behind some of the really gay skits on SNL UK 🥲
If you ever wondered why they call tattoos and piercings "unprofessional" and "unsophisticated"
Source: Lainey Molnar
literally. Cesare Lombroso "father of criminology" and disgusting racist and eugenicist had a whole thing about hating tattoos, and he even explicitly said that tattoos were something that """savages""" did and that criminals got tattoos because their brains were similar to """savages"""
dont obey the racist bullshit
my mom misses seeing what I'm up to and my dad misses all the animal pictures. Maybe I should get instagram again? But maybe not engage with people from work unless we're actually friends outside of work also.
Speaking of people from work, I'm in the most eclectic and random group chat with people from work that I wouldn't say I'm friends with but am friendly with. It's an interesting group of people but they're all fun. New friends? (I hope none of them will ever see this and realize a 39 year old wrote this because that's so embarrassing and I will have to quit my job and never return.)
