THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING (2003) dir. peter jackson
Doesn't Faramir get assigned rulership of Osgiliath after Aragorn becomes king?
Faramir: man I am never escaping this city huh?
Faramir, turning to Eowyn and pointing to a street corner: my dickbag father told me I was useless and unfit for duty while standing in that very spot
Eowyn, eye twitching after hearing about how awful Denethor was: it is well that he died ignobly in the battle, my lord. For I must apologize, if he were still alive I would run him through and pin his carcass to the town hall.
Faramir side hugging her: that's my girl
Aragorn going over a map of the eastern kingdom, speaking to Faramir in some council meeting where Eowyn comes up in conversation: You know, i am told that she killed a mumakil. By herself, on horseback. Merry told me later. Very proud he was of his Lady.
Faramir gripping the table hard, in a voice heavy with lust, croaks out: Proud I am of Eowyn, Lady of Osgiliath, my heart and love. You cannot make me love her harder, my Lord. My heart has been hers ere I first saw her in the infirmary. Was that then why she was there?
Aragorn, patting his back: no, my friend, that was for when she killed the Wraith King, king of all Nazguls in single combat. She is very fierce.
Faramir, face twitching in pride, but also fear as he realizes how close he almost lost her, wheezing out: Really?

I've probably posted about this before but it still gets me that Ripley (my parrot) has a special nickname for my spouse, Tev. Like he knows and uses the names of everyone in his flock (me, Tev, Steve, and Cheese. also a couple of our friends and my mom's dog) but because Tev calls him "Ripley buddy," a couple years ago Ripley started calling him "Tev buddy" instead of just Tev. He doesn't call anybody else buddy. He knows that 'buddy' is a special suffix for him and Tev to use with each other's names because they love each other. Doesn't that just melt your fucking heart
They love each other

both benjamin and ricky are ridiculously cute and friendly creatures but benjamin very much has rat vibes and ricky is more like a sentient beanie baby on cocaine

I haven't seen anyone mention this yet, but I really do appreciate that Grace uses basic diy shit to solve complex problems despite having fancy tech/expensive equipment at his disposal the majority of the time (sans computer and biology equipment).
Going to Home Depot and using basic hardware tools to experiment with the astrophage despite having an internationally funded research lab. Bungee cords to navigate through the Mary in 0 g. Duct taping the shit out of individual bulbs for a flashlight despite there most likely being a better technical solution. Putting tape on the clock for Rocky's echolocation instead of using any initial tech.
There's a lot that can be analyzed from this alone, but what I love the most is its depiction of science. You don't need the biggest resources or fancy locations to solve problems and make discoveries: just curiosity, determination, and a lot of fuckin duct tape
