For me I try face scrub twice a week then right after the scrub I make a mask with this formula: 1 tablespoon of no-sugar yogurt and 1 teaspoon of honey, mixed well together. I put on a thin layer of the mask on my face and gently massage my face for 5 minutes then leave it for another 5min before washing my face. Then I put on toner and night cream.
Mostly you should do this before bed and try doing it constantly for at least 1 month. The thing about acne is that you have to be patient and consistent, it’s not a good idea to try several methods in a short time.
Acne is actually a kind of light and common skin/hair root infection so you should try your best not to touch your face or only do when you’ve washed your hands. You HAVE to wash you face right after you get home from a day out with acne specialised products like Acnes or Clinique for acnes. You should use cleanser and toner after the wash too. Night cream is essential too since when you sleep is the best time for skin to regenerate.
Diet is very important as well. Drink 2.5l water a day, you can substitute by no sugar milk or lemonade, soup or anything natural but 2.5l is a must. Eat more green vegetables and fruits such as avocado, lettuce, cabbage, cucumber, etc. It’s okay to eat other fruits too but most of the colourful one have lots of sugar, no matter how natural sugar might more likely encourage the spots.
Thus get a hold of confectioneries. Try yogurts, lotsssss of them, sweetened or unsweetened is fine. No no for fried food especially fast food with lots of grease. Pizza and spaghetti are okay.
Don’t worry about putting on day cream would “block” hair roots and bad for acne, it’s actually the opposite if you choose day cream specialised in acnes. Sun cream IS A MUST. UV rays can get through 20cm thick wall to your office or classroom too and the computer light is as bad, they trigger your skin much more than you think. Try acne daycream then sun cream SPECIALISED FOR FACE ONLY, or find a product that has both. Make a layer as thin as possible.
The most important thing is absolute patience and consistency. Try one method at a time and consistent for at least 1 month, unless you have some bad reaction to the product or treatment then abort right away. Since it’s a kind of infection on skin where human get the most dirt on and the thinnest too, it takes time to heal. You might see acnes reduced but still some small amount of new acnes coming up in the period, it’s okay don’t worry if it’s a small amount. Some acnes are hidden in your hair roots and need to be “pushed” onto the surface so they can be treated.
You can’t really treat hidden acnes without expensive laser treatment. Mostly you can only “pushed” them up on the surface and sterilise them, or from inside your body which is to keep your body as healthy as possible so your skin can be healthy too, to prevent acnes from forming at the first place.
If you decide to try a product or natural mask I said above, test them on the inside of your lower arm near the blood vessel, it’s where the skin is softest and most similar to your face, to see if there’s any reactions.
You should try having a skin exam too, they often have them for free in big skincare shop like Cliniqe, Sephora, The Body shop, etc. since product effects depends on your skin types.
If your condition seem too bad and cause discomfort in your daily life I’d highly advise you to see a skin doctor(? sorry forget how they’re called in English)
P/s: I’m no doctor or specialist but I worked one year for a big skincare brand in global top cooperation so we employees had some education sessions especially on the field, as well as due to work I have to do self-research pretty much. I may not get the exact word by word intellectual science facts but here’s my advices. I gave these to some of my friends and most of them get the result after 1-2 months, some of them became lazy and forfeit so well, not as much.
