"Notes on an inclined plane"
Inspired this morning by Sara Hendren's networked architecture project, slope:intercept, documenting the design, installation, and research on slope and elevation accessibility.
Living in Paris, smooth pedestrian surfaces, let alone ramps, public elevators, building or transportation accessibility options are limited. Despite the ubiquitous spiraling staircase and roundabouts surrounding the courtyards and monuments of the city, hundreds of years of collective aesthetic generally excludes curvature.

A ramp is a machine.
Pictured are a montage of Sara's designs and a sketch from the monthly French journal, Architecture Principe (1963), with which she notes - habitable circulation.
