Today we said our final goodbye, even though you’ve already got wings. We shared memories and giggles yet there is sadness your leaving brings. Tears fell, it was hard, but smile were bright too, as we remembered how independent you were and how you could never be told what to do. How much love you showed and how the little things meant the most. Not forgetting how every Sunday you’d ask for a little dinner at ours as you came for a roast. Whaley, Dowden & Clayden all done you proud, and more Nanni stories could have been share if time had allowed. Today I remembered you in our garden drinking a cup of tea watching us pull up garden roots, and telling me off for not wearing gloves and strong garden boots. sit in the dark with tears in my eyes, but no sound is heard as to not to disturb the peace. My mind is full of memories and sorrow, but my body lays still as not to disturb the peace. The days are long and the nights are hard, but my smile stays firm so not to disturb the peace. I perform my duties at home and at work staying busy, so not to disturb the peace. I will carry on regardless so I do not disturb the peace. I will keep my smile strong so I do not disturb the peace. I will be there for others and do what is asked not to disturb the peace. Our daughter shows her smile on the outside whilst hiding the pain she feels until she’s in what she calls her safe place! We are her voice and protectors especially when she feels she can’t.
