"This mix represents a slightly more tonal side than I usually lean towards. If you're quite well attuned to noise, texture, timbre etc. it can be refreshing to explore melody and harmony from a different perspective. It's something that I've been increasingly interested in, particularly in my own music. There are quite a few different areas that I listen to for these things - traditional music from southern India, Bulgaria, China and the Arabic world, as well as classical, pop and jazz. These are a few tracks of techno / ambient / whatever tending more towards timbre, melody and harmony."
