Laos is set to have its first functioning High-Speed Rail connecting the nation with China, and in the future, with Thailand as part of the process to transition from a landlocked country into a land-linked country.

The High-Speed rail is fully functional, but will not be open to the public until the Lao national day on December 2. It will be part of a new era representing our prosperity after fending off American/ foreign imperialist dominance and occupation.

One of the trickiest obstacles for the construction of the HSR was getting rid of American bombs, a legacy of American interference and invasions, contributing to increasing the cost and time of the ambitious project.

I think what we do is mostly grow old. We carry accumulation of years in our bodies and on our faces, but generally our real selves, the children inside, are still innocent and shy as magnolias. I love this and still have about an hour of Letter to My Daughter to finish on audible. I felt this and realize that I never had a home, but I’m starting to build strong beautiful walls within me. The home inside of me was a terrifying place so I never had a safe haven to take refuge in from a very confusing world. The world around me was shattered by the violators of my body, broken promises of the ones I loved and witnessing a war between my creators on a regular basis. 

Today I rise.
