7/11 Friday: We made it to Farmington NM in time for the sunset from Tyler's veranda.

7/10 Thursday: We hit the town at the Stater Hotel. Complete with ragtime piano players and corsetted waitresses.

We hiked, panted and crawled up the Hog's Back trail for a pretty awesome view of Durango. We could have never made it without Aunt Barb's coaching.

7/10 Thursday: The homes in Durango are on the small side, but very well kept.

7/8 Tuesday: Aunt Barb let us stay with her and her family of pets. Those are not tardy (or early) Christmas lights as she's often corrected curious neighbors; merely porch lights. Barb and her house are groovy.

7/8 Tuesday: After camping in the Santa Fe National Forest the night before we hiked around Hyde State Park. We made it to 9,500 ft. above sea level after frequent stops to gasp for oxygen.

7/7 Monday: After 11 hours of driving we made it to Santa Fe for a little exploration.

7/7 Monday: On our way through Amarillo we had to stop to see the Big Texan, but ultimately opted for Jason's Deli salad bar over the 72 oz Steak Challenge.

Silence Preparation

In light of the next 3 weeks we are going to be spending together, often within the confines of our car, we have decided we will likely get sick of each other. To slow the sickening process we've decided to abstain from speaking to each other on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. 3 on, 4 off, weekly. We are hopeful that this technique will yield favorable results. Meanwhile, packing continues. J+K
