How do you draw intense shadows in your art

I try to focus on where the light source is and I look up references to hopefully get a good understanding of how my shadows will fall onto the character, next Is the sketch, then inking, i use the Graphic Micron Pens #2 for larger open spaces and #1 for tighter areas. If your question refers how I get the black so dark, truthfully the photos are edited to make my blacks darker. Just leave no white space in the dark areas, make sure you have good lighting when you take your photos and you should be fine👌🏻

Noir IX.5 || I made a logo! I’ll probably be going with this when it comes to branding, I took much inspiration from Persona’s aesthetic looking forward to doing more🤔.

Noir VII || This time I tried adding red a little differently while also calling back a piece of digital art that I did for my profile pic called salamander. I’m still trying to emulate Shigenori Soejima and Masayoshi Suto while also trying to keep my style. More to come later.🤔

Noir VI || I Attempted to add more red to emulate the style in persona 5 by artists Shigenori Soejima and Masayoshi Suto. I have a long way to go I need to further progress on how to use my pens more effectively and better balance the image 🤔

Noir III || harsh lighting practice for this one. I enjoyed doing this one, however I found that I lost some details that I wish I kept, still working on bettering my new style.

Noir I || My first non-Digital attempt at Noir art, inspired by Shigenori Soejima and Masayoshi Suto’s art style in Persona 5. I love the dramatic lighting and the contrast that it creates on the image.
