Summary:Youâre unwillingly engaged to the Crown Prince of another kingdom, whom you had known as a child but then lost contact with. Time, deceit, and politics brings you two back together, but itâs a dramatic stretch to the ascension of the throne.

As it so happens, Clint finds you before you find him.
âMy Queen,â Clint nods to you, starting to pass you by, but you take his hand at the last moment and pull him into a servantsâ travel hall.
âClint,â you say, glancing over your shoulder for Rebecca. Sheâd been further down the hall, having seen her mother, but sheâs quickly joining you and the knight as you speak.
â(Y/N)?â he asks confusedly, and when the princess joins your side, he nods his head to her in respect. âYour Highness.â
âHush,â Rebecca shushes him. âWe need your help.â
âMy help?â Clint echoes, raising an eyebrow. âWith what?â
Rebecca smiles at him.
âI canât believe he agreed to this,â you say, peeking out from an alcove in the hall as Clint steps into Natashaâs bedroom.
âLetâs go,â Rebecca hisses, right as the door closes and drags you out from behind the armor on display. You glance back over your shoulder as the two of you skirt around the corner of the corridor in case the red headed woman had suspected anything and emerged from her chambers, but when you see nothing out of the ordinary, you let out a breath of relief.
You look to Rebecca, and the princess laughs. Itâs infectious, and soon the two of you are leaning against the wall before the dining hall, holding your stomachs. You shake your head, the adrenaline of the plan shooting through you as you grin at your success at the first step.
âCome on,â Rebecca says, pushing her hair over her shoulder and biting at her smile. âWe must join them before our presence is missed.â
You nod her head, and the two of you share arms, walking the rest of the way to the dining hall with soft chuckles and short glances.
âPrincess Rebecca, Queen (Y/N),â the crier at the door announces, and Rebecca winces at his sudden voice as all eyes at the table flick to both you and the youngest Barnes. Prince Steve is among them, but his wife is nowhere in sight.
Youâre smiling until Buckyâs heavy glare settles on you and you sigh, pulling your attention from him as you and Rebecca part to sit on opposite sides of the table. You take your place, but thatâs when you notice another guest has joined the table, his plate set to the right of yours.
â(Y/N),â the king says, drawing your curiosity ridden gaze from the new man. âThis is Nicholas Fury, a retired general in my army.â
You force a smile to your face as you sit beside the man, knowing exactly who he is.
âYour Majesty,â the man nods to you. His right eye is covered by a patch, a scar peeking out from the injured area.
âSir,â you respond, not daring to look at Rebecca. âWhat brings you to the castle?â
He smiles thinly. âIâve come to discuss matters of land with the king,â he tells her. âIf youâve met my daughter, sheâs probably made you aware of the troubles in our homeland.â
You purse your lips, an effort to keep the friendly smile on your face as both Barnes siblings at the table watches you for a reaction. You can see Steve watching you out of the corner of your eye, chewing his lip and waiting for your reaction.
âIâve had the pleasure of meeting her acquaintance,â you say. âYour daughter has a special talent for making an impression.â
Rebecca snorts across the table and coughs it off as you focus on your meal. You pick at it, and then feel a sharp pain in your calf as Buckyâs boot hits your leg.
You glare at him as he shakes his head microscopely fast: a warning to not mention him and Natasha.
âYour Majesty,â Nicholas says, drawing your attention back to him. âHow are things in your Sokovia? I once was friends with your father, but our comradery ended once he died.â
You ignore the twist in your stomach at the mention of your passed father. âAll is well; Iâve left my land in the hands of my younger siblings.â
âThe bastard twins?â Nicholas wonders, and your fork slips across your plate, creating a screech in the dining hall as it quickly falls silent.
You stare down at the array of vegetables and meat before looking back at the retired general.
âYes,â you say curtly, âin the hands of my younger twin siblings.â
Nicholas nods his head as you breathe to expel the anger from your chest, and then sip at your wine.
âWhy not in the hands of your older bastard brother?â
You look up, instantly meeting Buckyâs eyes. His expression isnât one of anger nor concern, more of one giving you permission to fire back at the man.
Your head turns to retort the comment at the general, but Steve beats you to it.
âPeter is a master of all trade,â Steve speaks from across the table. âI had the honor of meeting the man while we were celebrating the engagement of my cousin and his fiancĂ©e. He has many goals and wishes to complete in life, but ruling is not one.â
Nicholas chuckles, swallowing his food. âIt seems the (Y/L/N) bloodline no longer makes the cut for ruling once itâs been spoiled, as your father shouldâve learned.â
You stand abruptly, your chair scratching across the floor of the dining hall.
âYou have nerve, sir, I will give you that,â you scowl out, clenching your fists, âinsulting not only my brothers and sister, but also my father all in one conversation.â
â(Y/N)-â
Queen Winnifred tries to speak, but you raise your hand, silencing her.
âItâs true, I am the only legitimate child of the former King and Queen of Sokovia, that is no lie,â you say. âBut upon each of their births, Pietro, Wanda, and Peter are all the children of my father, and it will do you well to respect them and I as a family. They are as much worthy of the throne as I am.â
Nicholas scoffs. âThen tell me, Your Majesty,â he says. âWhy do we call you the queen and not your tender older brother?â
Bucky is grabbing your hand before you can slap the retired general, and he pulls you from the dining hall as you mutter profanities under your breath, cursing the man thatâs still seated at the table.
âHey, hey,â Bucky says, facing you as he tugs you to a wall near the exit of the dining hall. âBreathe, (Y/N),â he instructs you. âListen to me.â
âAnd you claim my respect is severely low,â you spit hatefully. âWhy is it that both members of that awful family seek out ways to embarrass me and undermine me?â
Bucky shakes his head. âI donât know, (Y/N),â he replies. âBut you need to collect yourself before we go back in there.â
You scowl. âIf I go back in there, I cannot promise you that your fatherâs precious ex general will return to his homeland with his head.â
Bucky snorts and shakes his head. âYou cannot order the death of a man.â
âAnd why canât I?â you shoot back, your anger getting the better of you.
âYou cried for two days when you were five because you accidently killed a butterfly,â he reminds her. âYou swore to Steve and I that you would never kill something again.â
You purse your lips at the memory at it resurfaces in your thoughts and huff.
âFine,â you say. âThen I cannot promise to keep my composure while biting my tongue.â
You witness a small smile flicker across the princeâs face, and he shakes his head.
âCome with me,â he says, and you give him a look.
âWhat?â you reply.
âJust come with me,â Bucky insists, stepping back from you. He offers you his hand, and you stare at it skeptically. His behavior doesnât reflect what you had last experienced.
Deciding to rather trust him than return to the dining hall, slowly take his hand and he pulls you closer as you walk.
âI know what youâre doing with the knight.â

PART ELEVEN
Youâre woken from sleep by a handmaiden humming to herself as she opens your curtains and lets the morning sun into your chambers. You watch her with curious eyes, recognizing the woman as Betty, until your bedroom door opens and in storms Prince Bucky.Â
Your eyes meet his and you bite your cheek to suppress the groan of annoyance with reality for pursuing you so soon after waking.Â
âBetty,â Bucky nods to the maid, and she bows to him. âMay I have the room with the Queen?â
âYes, my Lord,â Betty replies and ducks out of the room, taking the dress you had worn the night before with her.Â
Bucky sighs and gestures to the edge of your bed as you sit up, pulling the sheets with you over your chest. âMay I?âÂ
You give him permission and he sits near the tips of your toes.Â
âMy father is trying to persuade me to share a room with you,â he deadpans, and your eyes widen.Â
âExcuse me?â you respond, lips parted a fair amount to make Bucky chuckle at your reaction. âWhy is this suddenly being enforced?â
âAmong other reasons, I spoke to him about your advisorâs intentions with you,â Bucky tells you, and you close your mouth, pursing your lips.Â
âOh,â you say.Â
âHeâs agreed that Grant be banished back to Sokovia,â Bucky continues.Â
You nod your head, and then pull your upper lip into your mouth with a certain degree of annoyance before you speak. âAnd did you inform him of your loverâs involvements in the plan?â
The prince doesnât look at you and you lick your teeth behind closed lips, ire behind your action.Â
âI see,â you say, nodding your head with heavy sarcasm. âSo my advisor may be banished home â mind you, without punishment and without proper trial â but his partner in the crime may be excused?â
âNatasha is not Grant,â Bucky says shortly.
âNatasha plotted to have my reputation spoiled and our marriage annulled,â you reply sharply, sitting up straighter.Â
Buckyâs glare grows fiercer. âI told you I would handle her.â
âAnd what do you plan to do?â you snap back. âLure her into your bed and convince her to abandon her plans while begging her to come back to you?â
You bite your tongue as soon as the words leave your mouth, and Bucky stiffens as you stare at each other.Â
âFor a queen, your respect for others is severely low,â Bucky replies flatly.Â
You scowl at him as he stands, dismissing himself from your chambers without another word. You watch him close to the door and huff, angry with yourself for allowing such a comment to slip through your lips and angry at Bucky for being such a âÂ
You shake your head, cutting your own thoughts off as another maid, one you donât recognize enters your room, announcing that it was time to bathe and prepare for the day.Â
You sigh, but let yourself be guided out of bed and towards the bathroom, leaving your bedsheets and carrying your anger into the warm water with you.
âŠ
You sit beside Rebecca in silence.Â
Youâd just told her whatâd been shared between you and her brother that morning, and the frown on her face had deepened up until she rolled her eyes and shrugged.Â
âHeâll be fine,â she tells you without any concern. âBucky is too dramatic, and heâs should of realized by now Natasha doesnât deserve to be defended by him nor any other one of us.â
You run a hand through your hair, nerves clenching in your stomach.Â
Youâre dressed in a simple dress and perched on the edge of a windowsill overlooking the palace grounds, legs slotted between Rebeccaâs, who is sitting opposite to you with a book in her lap.Â
âIâll be forced to share a room with him,â you say, and Rebecca snorts.Â
âReally?â she asks and shakes her head. âI pity you.â
You give her a flat look and she gives you a sympathetic smile before laughing again.Â
âWe really need to solve this Natasha problem, though,â Rebecca says thoughtfully after a moment, and you make a face of agreement.Â
âI donât understand how your brother can tolerate how irritatingly pestilent she is,â you mutter, and Rebecca chuckles.Â
âYou married him,â she teases and you kick her leg playfully.Â
âAgainst my will,â you remind her, and she grins. âThat reminds me,â you continue. âI met Natashaâs new lover last night.â
Rebeccaâs eyebrows raise instantly. âWho is he?â
âA knight,â you reply. âHis name is Clint.â
Rebeccaâs nose crunches with confusion. âIâve never heard of him. Did he say where in the palace heâs stationed?â
âJust that heâs just returned from somewhere else,â you answer.Â
âHm,â Rebecca considers this. âKnights are loyal to my family; maybe Clint will be willing to help us drive Natasha out of the palace?â
âHe told me that all he and Natasha share is a bed,â you sigh.Â
Rebecca gives her a wily smirk. âBeds are in chambers, and chambers belong to certain treasonous women who hopefully have evidence of their crimes laying about.â
You give her a look. âNo, Rebecca. We canât.â
She makes a face and laughs defiantly as she stands. âOf course we can. We are queens and princesses,â she says proudly. âIf we get caught, we wonât receive more than a scolding.â
You wince. âOr an angry husband and his ex lover.â
âPssh,â Rebecca shrugs. âMy brother is stuck with us, Natasha we can rid ourselves and him of.â
âI have a bad feeling about this,â you mutter, finally rising to stand in front of Rebecca. Her wicked grin grows.Â
âWe start by finding the knight,â she says firmly.

A/N: so hereâs the first part of RY, and Iâm pretty impressed by it, honestly. hope everyone reading enjoys it
SNEAK PEEKÂ Â PART TWO
Your mother does not touch you as you walk alongside her with Grant still holding your arm towards the throne room of the Barnes Castle. Your heart beats triple the amount of times you take steps, and youâre sure Grant can feel your heartrate in your arm, but if he does, he does not address it.
The stained glass windows of the hall leading towards the throne room are gold and silver, images of the land and past kings and queens pictured in them and shining disarrayed blends of color onto the stone floor you walk on.
âYouâre a queen,â your mother reminds you, though she neednât to. âThat is one rank higher than James.â
You only look at her, blank faced and still frustrated with her, and she turns her head forward, chin raised as you three take the last turn into the throne room. The king and his queen had greeted you upon your arrival the evening before, late into the night, but neither his son nor daughter were awake for you to meet. They stand at the foot of their parentsâ thrones now, dressed equally elegantly and each as beautiful as their kingdomâs breathtaking country side.
âYour Highnesses,â King George Barnes says, rising from his throne with his wife following suite and descending the steps down onto the main floor.
âYour Majesty,â your mother bows deeply to him, and smiles at him and his wife, Queen Winifred.
âYour Highness,â you say in turn, bowing to him just as much as your mother.
âMay I introduce to you to my son, the Crown Prince James, and my daughter, Princess Rebecca.â
They step forward upon being called, and the Princess grins at you and bows to you, as you do the same.
âIt is an honor to finally meet you, Your Majesty,â Princess Rebecca says to you.
âIt is my honor alone,â you reply, and look to her brother.
Prince James nods to you, back ramrod straight and demeanor closed off, but his chest expands when you make eye contact with him, and you do not nearly bow as low to him as you had the rest of his family.
âThis is my advisor, Grant of Ward,â you introduce the man at your side, and he gives his respect to the Barnes family.
âA pleasure to meet you,â King George speaks to him.
âIt is an honor, Your Majesty,â Grant responds, returning to his straight composure.
âYour Highness.â King George addresses your mother. âIf you would please join myself and my wife in a discussion.â
Your mother conforms, and glances to you before stepping towards Queen Winifred.
âJames,â his mother addresses him, and Prince James looks at his queen, wordlessly. âTake Queen (Y/N) on a stroll through the gardens. Reacquaint yourselves with one another.â
You open your mouth to oppose this suggestion, determined not to be alone with the Prince until you had to, but Grantâs gaze silences you, and you comply to his unspoken recommendation.
âOf course,â Prince James obeys, his voice rigid. Grant releases your arm, and James nearly looks livid with himself as he offers his own, which you reluctantly take.
âGrant,â you say, and your dark haired advisor gives you a reassuring smile, his emotions at bay as you are guided away from the throne room by the Crown Prince.
âŠ
Once outside, James removes his arm from yours and reforms to locking his hands behind his back as you walk side-by-side down the path towards the garden of dying flowers. Your fingers hold each other loosely in a prayer like form in front of yourself, and you struggle to find words to say to the man next to you.
Your attention is instead drawn by a statue of a naked woman in the center of the garden, visible only now because of the dead branches of summer time plants in the labyrinth of flowers surrounding you both, and you stop, glancing between it and Prince James.
âDo you remember laughing at this statue?â you ask the prince, and he looks down at you.
âYes,â he states.
Your family had known the Barnes since before your birth, and you had spent a few years in the company of them as a child, between the time when your father had died and day of your coronation, at age seven. Up until then, you had memories of the Crown Prince as a long haired, buck-toothed child. There were only a few, and they were distant, but you reminisced on them whenever you missed the innocence and bliss of childhood.
âWhere is Prince Steven?â you ask him, remembering your second companion in those early years and Prince Jamesâ own cousin.
âHe is away,â Prince James responds flatly. âHis wedding has prevented him from meeting you, again.â
You frown at this news, not having been in recent contact with Prince Steven and not having heard the news of a wife. You suppose the news had been kept from you or deemed unimportant, but it brings an unfamiliar feeling into the pits of your stomach to realize the skinny and sickly small boy you had once put flowers all over in the summer time was married, and grown.
Prince James walks on, and you follow his lead, strolling with him towards the center of the maze. He takes every right, passing blooming flowers and the dead ones alike, soundless except for his boots crunching dried branches under him.
âPrince James,â you say, trying to achieve a conversation with him. âI know this arrangement must make you as angry as it makes me, but I am not the one to blame for it.â
The prince halts, and you stop as well, waiting for his response, which comes as a bitter laugh as he turns around. His chuckle cuts through the frigid air like a sharpened sword, and his lips twist into a scowl.
âYou have no idea how angry this arrangement makes me,â he tells you, voice finally adopting some kind of tone, though it is rage. âI donât even know you, and here I am, being forced to marry you, because it is âfor the good of our kingdoms.ââ
âAnd you think that I approve of it?â you demand, crossing your arms over your chest. âI do not need a husband to rule my kingdom, but here I am, having to because being alone weakens my reign, in my peopleâs eyes.â
âDamn your people,â Prince James hisses.
âDamn you!â you respond, offended by his curse. âHow dare you say something like that.â
âHow dare I?â the Prince repeats. âHow dare you come into my country and request my hand in marriage!â
âRequest your hand?â you repeat, confused. âJames, I never even reached out for a marriage!â
âReally?â Prince James scoffs. âThen explain to me why a messenger came to this castle not two weeks ago, requesting that I become your king and you become my queen with your familyâs seal at the bottom of the note?â
You fall short, lips parted. Â âJames, I havenât sent messages to you, or this country since I was eight years old.â
Prince James falls into silence, his eyes analyzing your face for truth.
âJames,â you say his name again, stepping forward to grasp his arm, believing your shared history allowed you this. âThe seal on the message, did it have the dove in the crown or a wreath of laurels around it?â
He shakes his head, pinching the bridge of his nose as he moves his body away from yours.
âA bird, a dove maybe,â he responds. âWhy? Why does this matter?â
Your expression darkens and you press your lips into a firm line.
âIt matters because the seal of my country, upon my coronation, is a wreath of laurels surrounding my crown,â you tell him, new anger and disbelief coursing through you. âThe seal of a dove flying through the crown was the seal of my parents before me.â
Prince James meets your eyes as the understanding clicks with him.
âI didnât send you anything,â you mutter. âMy mother did.â

When Spider-Man gets killed in infinity war, Tony would of course, breakdown, and Strange will be quick to act saying nO DONâT WORRY I GOT THIS then rewinds and tada heâs okay. However Tony will not be over it so quickly. Heâll be hugging and crying over Peter and calling him an idiot and telling him to be more careful then Star-Lord just stands there very awkwardly, then says,
âHeh, I guess you could say we did a re-pete :Dâ
Then Tony beats him up.
