Mr. Swallow, I just finished reading your book 'The Buried Dagger.' Mortarion is one of my favorite WH40K Primarchs, so this was a book I had been anticipating ever since I got my hands on 'The Pale King,' his primarch novel. I LOVED how you characterized Mortarion, in it; the dread is palpable, during the warp scenes, and I regularly had to put it down out of despair for him and his legion. Having more backstory for him was also greatly enjoyable; nothing helps you understand character lore like actually reading the books, lol! I loved getting to watch his dynamic with Necare (I HATE HIM) and the people of Barbarus.
Also, GOD HOW I HATE TYPHON/TYPHUS!!!! He's a great character, he's very interesting, you did a great job writing him, but as a person? AHHHHHH I HATE HIM!!!!!! BGNSNVJSKFNEM I took so many notes in the book that can be summed up as 'Typhus/Necare, when I catch you-'
The bit at the end, where he swears allegiance to Nurgle, is particularly poignant. I can envision it so *perfectly* in my mind. I almost cried multiple times, then in particular, but also throughout the rest of the book.
You did FANTASTIC.
Hey, thanks for your thoughts. Much appreciated!
