I stayed up last night with the intent to study for my programming midterm tomorrow, but instead read articles, watched videos and looked at photos of a former student who, unfortunately, passed away recently on a co-op term in California. I do not know this individual personally, nor do we have any mutual friends. Regardless, his passing has made a huge impact on me. I guess it got me contemplating/thinking about 2 things: 1) why do bad things happen to good people (I question this everyday) 2) will people remember me ... like they remembered this person? What kind of person am I/what kind of person do I want to be in the eyes of others? As of right now, I would answer no for the first part question 2. For some reason, I felt really connected when I read about this individual, and this individual is who I can only aspire to be. My condolences to family members and friends. Rest in paradise. I wish I met you.
