When u lost af
"hey" siyeon piped "are you gonna buy me a cheeseburger or what?"
“That’s definitely the least adorable way to ask someone to treat you to food,” he sniffs, nose wrinkled slightly at how every dongsaeng he has born after ninety-eight was out for his entire livelihood. ungrateful. the amusement flickering over his features, though, is evident. “you’re just lucky i can’t say no to a cheeseburger.”
it seemed as though he didn’t understand the situation. with him being a huge rising star in korea and her just earning her ‘monster rookie’ title, being seen together would cause more trouble than she’d like at the moment. sure, spotlights would be on her but she didn’t want things to escalate from two friends that have known each other since their trainee days. panting quietly in a poor attempt to catch her breath, she waved a hand in front of her face to dismiss him slightly. “why are you still like this!” obviously, despite the workout sessions she does before bedtime, running isn’t something she is too fond of. “if we’re seen, we might be in trouble… and it’s late. it’s past my curfew anyway!”
The dim streetlight manages to cast shadows across half of the girl’s face, illuminating under the vague movements of her fingertips as she waves her hands in dismissal. her words, though, catch him off guard, and he freezes, as if all of their few minutes of interaction tonight would suddenly dissipate if he’s quiet enough. it’s a little silly how he hadn’t even contemplated the consequences and misinterpretations by the media if there were to be even the slightest whiff of scandal, but four years of casually training together skews his judgment that small bit. “it’s past all of our curfews, honestly,” he offers after a beat, tone light, as he gestures vaguely to his hoodie. “besides, i’m in disguise,” he manages petulantly, still set on heading to the convenience store for a midnight snack.
Moving her bangs back into place while furrowing her eyebrows slightly in disapproval of the elder flicking her precious forehead. “Well” she comments crossing her arms in the process “if im ugly what are you? probably ten percent uglier than me, on a good day that is.” Arin couldn’t help but let out a laugh, poking his side as she did so. “but hey, we do match now since its not a good day, or is it, dun dun duuuun” she continues to laugh, hoping that he would be able to take her lame jokes and terrible puns as well as her members.
His gaze narrows in some vague semblance of feigned offense, lips curved downward before he puffs out his chest, standing straighter. “ten percent, huh? an entire five point improvement from the last. that just means i’m just getting better looking. one day, i’ll completely surpass you, and what would you do then?” he jolts at the finger, dodging back with his arms held up as if to ward off some evil spirit. namely, one choi yewon.
She wasn’t quite sure if the English phrase had stuck with the older boy, and his contemplative made it unclear whether or not he was pondering on the meaning of the phrase itself or if he just didn’t catch what she’d said in general. It was always rather difficult interacting with her older labelmates, though Wonwoo’s typical demeanor made it even harder for Eunwoo to try and break through to make conversation with him. Regardless, the rather positive reaction was enough to earn a smile from her, and she raised her hand to wave a little victory sign about before flashing the other a toothy smile. “Oscar really had the right idea, if you think about it. He seemed perfectly content with his circumstances despite how things were… when he wasn’t being a grouch, that is,” she mused back in their native language, nodding silently as a smile continued to tug at her features despite the goofy topic of their conversation.
He watches the girl’s expression for a beat longer, still contemplative, before a smile twitches at the corner of his lips at the beaming, victorious one she sends his way. it’s half there, subtle, but infinitely genuine as he returns the toothy grin, his a brief flash of teeth more than anything else. he’s been told before that he has a rather intimidating face, smile be damned, but in a teasing manner by any one member at a time. “mn, maybe he was the most content while grouchy. i’m sure it’s possible. maybe it was like - some kind of weirdly therapeutic venting. like yelling in one of the empty practice rooms.” he gestures out vaguely in some awkward attempt at encompassing the building as a whole. “you should try it some time if you’re feeling particularly grouchy. although i highly recommend making sure you’re alone. one of the choreographer hyungs found me in the middle of a de-grouch once after seungkwan convinced me into it. i still can’t look him in the eyes.”
“Are you SURE you wanna do that?” She looks at the tall man over her shoulder, obviously displeased by his actions. Most times she didn’t mind people going through he stuff but he didn’t seemed to be the most careful person of them all and, even more, he couldn’t put everything back the way it was. And that REALLY pissed her off.
There is a beat of silence, a lapse in actual communication, before he turns to blink towards the source of ire. it’s a gradual adjustment, actually meeting her gaze, one he feels a bit like he’s being reprimanded for - like the child he isn’t exactly. And, as he notes the clutter growing around him, wonwoo thinks he might understand the tone. Sheepishly, he taps one of the stray knickknacks behind him, slightly out of sight, despite the futility. “um - there’s an explanation here somewhere, i swear.”
Who are you????
“I’m you but stronger.”
@tzuchu
The lift of his shoulders is decidedly nonchalant, lacklustre in its indecision, though the teasing twitch at the corner of his lips belies his amusement. the glare aimed his way only amplifies it. “’m, yes,” he offers after a beat, gesturing vaguely towards her. “i thought i’d bring it up with you since you’re such an expert. i saw you talking on the phone the other day - don’t think i didn’t. vulgar. do you kiss your mum with that mouth?” it’s his running commentary, one wonwoo has never properly grown out of in their few months of acquaintance, and one he’s slowly convincing himself of despite the unlikelihood.
“i’m -” there’s a beat of silence where wonwoo just stares blankly at her, his body leaking skepticism from it’s very core at the comment. “a flower. you’re a flower who swears in mandarin. because she knows her innocent and pure pal wonwoo can’t speak a lick of it. i see through your games, chou tzuyu. i’m onto you.” he makes a point to point both fingers at her like some saturday morning cartoon villain before taking a step back. “anyway, if you find more powerful swears, maybe we’ll - like - level up or something.”
"Am I really your enemy?"
There is a tangible silence, the stilted words reverberating through the stillness of the room, and wonwoo blinks from behind the lenses of wire-rimmed glasses to regard the only other occupant of the room. the barest exhale escapes him, resigned and needlessly loud in the echoing silence, before he manages an actual response, his tone serious. “mingyu -” he’s interrupted by loud cheers accompanied by clapping cartoons dancing across the glaringly bright screen, and he lifts the playstation controller in his hand close enough to touch the boy’s nose. “you’re so dramatic.”
he’s an ice chewer :–)
'I get progressively uglier throughout the day'
blurbs ! accepting.
He can’t help the expression he makes at that, lips pursed and altogether displeased. “ay,” he comments with a wrinkle of his nose. “what is that? why do i feel like this is some slight against my person. if you’re ugly, then what am i?” he attempts some semblance of a scowl, entirely unimpressed with this line of reasoning as he gestures vaguely to encompass humanity as a whole. “but, hey. at least we match now.” he hums, reaching forward to flick her forehead lightly.
❛ i’m the weird dad, wine mom, vodka aunt, and gay emo cousin all in one person ❜
blurbs ! accepting.
Blinking, wonwoo regards the male with slowly widening eyes and what should realistically be apprehension (but fits more along the realm of curiosity). “that’s,” he begins, giving a small nod of approval, “damn impressive. i can only strive to be half of one - and it’s not even the wine mom my heart yearns to be. the shame.” he gives a little sniff, nudging his knuckles against the under-rim of his spectacles before he straightens up. “senpai,” is his only response, perfectly deadpan.
❛ just because you’re trash doesn’t mean you can’t do great things. it’s called garbage can, not garbage cannot. ❜
blurbs ! accepting.
There is the barest of questioning present across his sharp features, skepticism evident in the narrow gaze he’s directing at the girl, before his features soften into something distinctly more sensible. straightening up, he regards her with a more thoughtful expression, probably one a bit too introspective for the situation at hand, but, honestly, social cues are human constructs that occasionally need to be ignored. “that was - oddly inspirational,” he quips, stroking at his chin sagely. “now i can proudly say i’ve always felt a connection with oscar the grouch.” the english cadence spills out a bit disjointedly, but the sentiment remains the same.
“I don’t really think any of you will know how it started, nothing ever makes sense in these dorms.” He sighs dramatically, leaning over the sink and letting the younger start picking at his hair. It wasn’t like Jeonghan couldn’t just take a shower to get all of this goop out of his hair, but he had just taken one, and he was not looking forward to having kimchi water cascade down his back while showering. Yuck. “You were a casualty? Oh, so you weren’t one of the idiots throwing this gunk back and fourth? Makes sense as to why you were crouched down when I walked in. And here I thought you were hiding from me.”
The elder snorts at the thought, moving his hair to the side once Wonwoo had pulled back to pick at his shirt, assuming he’d already picked out the pieces of cabbage and all that remained was the red paste at his roots. Turning on the faucet, he flicks open the shampoo bottle. “Laundry, eh? Sounds like a great punishment if I can get any of them to agree to it. But then again since it technically is their fault all of your clothes are dirty… I’m totally agreeing.” Applying liquidy substance to his palm, Jeonghan waits for his hair to rinse thoroughly before running soapy fingers through it. “Help me with this, I don’t want any red left in my hair…” Long hair, both a blessing and such a curse.
His fingers falter, just the barest jolt at the question, before he resumes his grooming presently. he may have thrown something, maybe - tugged out a chair or two from under some bums - but purely out of self-defense! i swear! he doesn’t even have to actually know jeonghan to figure that angle wouldn’t exactly fly by unprovoked. and he kind of does know jeonghan. “there may have been - some hiding involved,” he offers after a beat of trepidation, tone causal and soft, the bridge of his nose furrowed slightly in response to the quip. “a lot of hiding, maybe. i actually expected the next casualty to be jisoo hyung. but, our luck dictated otherwise. i still blame boo seungkwan.”
dropping his fingers from the hem of his shirt, wonwoo peers over the edge of the sink curiously, leaning his upper torso as close as he can manage without the threat of bodily dropping onto the older luming precariously in the not-so-distant future. “yeah - i’m sure you could manage it. find the guiltiest looking one and start there.” he pauses, wondering vaguely if he is the guiltiest looking one. nah. lightly, he begins to lather wet tendrils, unfamiliar in his palms.
