bon appetit your majesty brainrot so bad i had to start another drama to fill the emptiness while waiting for the next episode. and i love chun woohee imagine my delight when i saw she has a new ongoing drama, that male lead actor be damned surprisingly i still enjoyed episode 1 maybe i’ll continue this

Kudos to the people who are here for the romance and the court drama, but if the entire show was just about Ji-yeong wandering around the Joseon era and entering nonstop cooking competitions, I'd be just as entertained.

like i saw people complaining about the lack of romance in ep 8 now that we only have 4 eps left but im still entertained whatever is going on 😭 i think i just wholeheartedly love this drama

sirens was the quickest binge ive done in so long and my god was that good i was literally making this chris pratt parks and rec face gif at the ending of episode 4 theorizing/knowing/(hoping even!) that simone was going to be the new mrs. kell AND I WAS RIGHT ! saw funny comments on tvtime where people were like “oh no it’s over for them (simone and peter)” on that photo reveal but i was LAUGHING. hysterically might i add.

also this is definitely very youngest sister core of me but i was so annoyed at the whole premise of devon trying to “save” simone and get her out of the island. literally screaming curses at my tv lol. even more as they continue to reveal details from their background and history.

i knew from the start what kinds of decisions simone would make and people are not gonna like it. i knew people are gonna say big words, and that she’s stupid or a bitch and that wasn’t a happy ending (yes) she’s basically just gonna be another one of peter’s disposable wives (true) but that’s literally the whole point of showing the cycle. surprise surprise (not really surprising) men being the real villains duh.

and can we really blame her for snapping at the thought of being with her father again after all that shit? grown ass woman with a life getting dragged back to her old home that wasn’t her home anymore, they expect her to drop everything in her current life and force her to take care of her abuser fuckass excuse of a father? it was one way or the other for her at that point. held my breath during the entire running scene because jesus fuck the dad saying “devon is gonna be away, it’s me and you again” was so fucking triggering, if i were her i’d literally rather kill myself. and okay none of the women was a monster (it’s kinda funny they had to explicitly say this in the script at the ferry scene ngl) but damn did i hate devon for most of the time in this show lol especially in that scene where simone was wearing a green dress and telling her the details she remembers from that horrible childhood and devon is ready with her one-liner responses to defend their father? my godddd. tho i think my hatred was what made devon’s realization at the end so impactful, god that look on her face as she looked at her little sister. the “you didn’t serve me and i didn’t let you go.” scene? PEAK TV! CINEMA. bawled my eyes out. cried. ew. i love my sisters. hah.

this show is 10/10. maybe im glazing a bit too much but ugh. can we have a season 2 or alternate ending where peter dies and all the wealth goes to simone idk im not smart enough for this
