We just got this book at the children’s library I work at. It’s called “Women in Sports: 50 Fearless Athletes Who Played to Win”, written and illustrated by Rachel Ignotofsky - @rachelignotofsky. Obviously I had to look at the combat sports athletes.

Was pleasantly surprised to see 3 out of the 50 were from combat sports and another on the honorable mentions page. Was super happy to see the inclusion of the late, great Keiko Fukada (RIP).

Definitely worth picking up, either for your kid or for yourself. Don’t let my crappy scams fool you. Photoscan just drained the color. The book is really lovely to look at and full of amazing athletes from all around the world. It’s available on Amazon for like $12 (https://www.amazon.com/Women-Sports-Fearless-Athletes-Played/dp/1607749785) or maybe your local library has a copy like ours.
