I just don't know what to say. I have met the most amazing people in Edinburgh and have found the most fabulous friends. A surprise dinner, my cards, the gifts. You know who you all are. I love you all to the moon and back. You made my night. Artist Bio: An Introduction to...NyimeMusic
Brief: Artist Website Bio
Alias: Nyime Music

“All deep things are song. It seems somehow the very central essence of us, song” - Thomas Carlyle
To singer/songwriter Nyime, music is everything. With a scintillating RnB sound and passion-infused lyrics, Nyime Music speaks life through her artistry, centered within her desire to leave listeners full of hope, joy and the promise of better tomorrows.
Evolving from a fervent dream to an emerging reality, Nyime yearns to bring something unique to the world of music. Nyime’s sound is palpable. A richness of feeling emotes to the listener through every song that she creates, and this compassion resonates over soulful melodies and tantalizing RnB riffs to truly shine a light within the reality of any person’s circumstance. Nyime’s vision is to be relatable. To create and sing music with such a timeless quality that it can be universally appreciated from city to city and around the world.
Hailing from Manchester, Nyime’s voyage to music was nurtured within a loving family who inspired her to be all that she can be. Music, for Nyime, transformed from a happy pastime to an ardent calling. A strong personal faith and supportive church enhanced Nyime’s knowledge of self, compassion for others and provided a stage upon which her talent could grow. Never sidelining her vision for music, through her journey to adulthood Nyime has balanced song writing, studio recording, gigs and live shows with extensive academic pursuits and legal training.
Working hard over the last few years to harness her sound, Nyime gift-wraps her music with authenticity by drawing inspiration from her life experiences. The “realness” of her lyrical content is potent, yet, interlaced with smooth RnB melodies, it leaves a sweet aroma. Akin to artistic influences such as Fantasia Barino and Mary J Blige, Nyime creates consciously heartfelt music delivered with the poetic flair of Kim Burrell whilst a restorative presence reminiscent of Kierra Sheard simmers throughout.
To Nyime, music can be all consuming, healing; a therapy to the soul and heart of a person that can transcend past any state of existence. Using her extensive vocal range and soulful sound Nyime Music seeks to encourage, uplift and inspire. Taster songs, such as, “Forgive You Once”, touches upon painful complexities that can occur within relationships and lyrics pearls of wisdom that can be plucked from these experiences. Whereas, “Consider This”, teaches a fundamental appreciation of the miracle of life, the finiteness of time, the importance of what we do with the lives we’re living now, and how this impacts on the spirit of man.
Currently, Nyime Music is readying her debut EP, “Transition”, for release soon! Generating a buzz, Nyime has already featured on Premier Radio to introduce herself to new audiences. Nyime Music is eager to engage with her fan base and take her music to the next level. Developing her digital and social media presence, Nyime Music will soon be able to connect with you through Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, SoundCloud and Reverbnation.
Nyime Music continues her song writing, studio recording and live performances. She wants to connect with you and increase her exposure to fulfill her overall ambition of going on tour. She couldn’t wish for more than to pursue this vision of giving you music, full-time.
Nyime Music speaks life. She puts everything she has in to creating timeless music that can speak to the heart of people, inspire and bring a message of hope. Nyime has a heart for people and wants you to embark on this voyage to music with her.

Review of Prom 37: BBC Urban Classical Prom
Saturday 10th August 2013
Prom 37: BBC Urban Classic Prom, Royal Albert Hall
The 37th Prom of 2013 ushered in a landmark occasion. The two quite contrary genres of urban and classical came to “break bread” within the glittering auditorium of the Royal Albert Hall; this innovative union traversed new grounds for the UK music scene, ascending at times to glorious heights of victory, despite the scathes of purist sceptics in the media who greedily waited for a train wreck.
Maestro Jules Buckley adeptly led the 90-piece BBC Symphony Orchestra as they accompanied pioneers Maverick Sabre, Laura Mvula, Jacob Banks, crowd favourite Fazer and his 7 Chapters, Lady Leshurr, and Wretch 32. It was a proud moment for Birmingham, which featured three homegrown artists in the evening’s line-up.
Sabre opened the evening with his velvety tones as he delivered an amped up rendition of, “These Days”, whilst regally adorned Laura Mvula followed up with, “Sing to the Moon”. Whilst these performances served as quaint appetizers, there was a sense of something lacking to truly turn the evening from good to great. The orchestral arrangement was too light on percussion and bass to engage the hybrid audience.
However, as if an answer to everyone’s prayers, Lady Leshurr blazed on to the stage with nuclear force. Urban music had arrived. “Blazin’” proved potent, a song that compelled the audience to actually smile, clap, dance and engage with the concept of the evening. In round two, Leshurr’s second delivery of, “Look At Me Now” was a knockout, as she morphed in to Busta Rhymes to unleash spitfire lyrics over a fevered beat. Keeping the orchestra on their toes, Buckley gave a nod of acknowledgement to Leshurr as he too began to enjoy himself.
Banks excelled with a rich performance of statement track, “Worthy”, adding a touch of soul to this synergistic event. Mvula showcased her exquisite composition and depth of lyrical content with, “Father Father”. Tentative at times but sublime in the her tender delivery of this piece, Mvula could have broken hearts with this number if she’d only elongated her chorus verses instead of cutting off her emotive sentiments with staccato vocals.
Wretch 32 stole the night with his masterful performance of signature song, “Traktor”. The hall’s crystal clear acoustics magnified the percussive elements of his performance tenfold as they ripped through the auditorium and transformed the standing section of the hall in to a mini mosh pit.
Joy filled the Royal Albert Hall as all musicians came to the stage to close the night with a heart-warming delivery of, “One Love”.
This penultimate promenade concert is not for everyone. It’s a groundbreaking collaboration and rarely ever does innovation occur without criticism.
The Urban Classic Proms was a very necessary step forward for the UK world of music that is often left choking in the smoke of the trailblazing US. It takes vision and respect to appreciate the immensity of what took place this night. This was a much needed peace talk between two contrasting parties and two fan bases that equally misunderstand one another.
