The Greek alphabet, the script of English today, is based on the Kemetic alphabet of Ancient Egypt/Kemet and the Upper Nile Valley of Ancient Africa. Ancient Egyptians called their words MDW NTR, or ‘Metu Neter,” which means divine speech. The Greeks called the language of Ancient Egyptians ‘hieroglyphics’ which is a Greek word. The etymology of hieroglyphics is sacred (hieros) carvings (glyph). According to Muata Ashby,
“The mouth is a symbol of consciousness…thoughts are conditioning instruments. This means that when you think, you are actually differentiating. When the mind goes beyond words, it goes beyond thoughts and thereby experiences undifferented consciousness.
Speaking is an art to be performed when it will do the most good and not for idle talk or for showing off to others or those who do not wish to listen.

New York Skyline Melody is based on the musical concept, invented by Dr. Joseph Schillinger, of “millimetrization”. Each change in the contours taken from a real-world analogue shows up in the music (in this case a piano piece from 1939, later orchestrated by the composer). The picture is from the article ‘Villa-Lobos e a “Melodia das montanhas”: Contribuição à revisão crítica da pedagogia musical brasileira’, Carlos Kater, Latin American Music Review / Revista de Música Latinoamericana, Vol. 5, No. 1 (Spring - Summer, 1984), pp. 102-105

As it's Sunday : Sister Rosetta Tharpe singing 'Up Above My Head'. Someone with such energy singing and playing an electric guitar is probably one the most compelling reasons I can think of for going to church.

Michael Jackson's Face Mask Art
After a little chat with my friend Steve, he sent me this down the wire. Pretty incredible and disturbing I'm sure you'll agree. We don't know who the artist is which is a shame but I was reminded of a quote about celebrity by the late John Updike:
“Celebrity is a mask that eats into the face. As soon as one is aware of being somebody, to be watched and listened to with extra interest, input ceases, and the performer goes blind and deaf in his over animation. One can either see or be seen.”
I don't think I've ever met anyone who didn't love the music and the spirit of Michael Jackson. So how did he get to this stage and become such a lonely and reclusive individual?
In truth no one can teach you anything if you can't teach yourself. That doesn't mean you can't learn though...

Me - talking with Mr Steven Tart over Skype this very day.
I'm usually the last one to big up girlbands but Duchess played a great showcase at Aquum in Clapham last night. Excellent songs and really nicely arranged 4 part harmonies, a good stage presence and relaxed attitude. Didn't look too bad either :p

DUCHESS 1ST GIG GETS THE THUMBS UP!
Take a look at some of the stills from our very 1st gig! We were thrilled to be invited to perform at ’Sunday Night Live’ at Aquum Bar in Clapham, London yesterday (23/01/2011).
We decided on performing a stripped back accoustic set with a little help from our fantastic guitarist Mafro (Follow on twitter @MafroMusic) instead of our usual full on all singing & dancing set. The venue was filled to the brim with people & we had a fantastic response from the audience! We’d like to thank Jamal Edwards & the SBTV crew for coming to support along with our producers The Thundacatz, Parker & James as well as our ever supportive friends & family for cheering us on!
We’d also like to thank all the twitter LOVE we recieved after the gig too! Here’s just a few of the fantastic post gig tweets we recieved….
@TheThundacatz “Went to see mu girls @OfficialDuchess first ever live performance tonight and they were dope!!! #BestGirlBandInTheCounty”

That's Embarrassing...
Some people may have a lot of power, but not always the vision we assume goes with it.

Do you want to tell him about YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Myspace (maybe not myspace) or shall I ?
I guess the lesson here is sometimes when you have a good thing don't expect someone to recognise the potential just because they have had more experience or success in a related field. It's the 21st century, so do your own thing :)
